Wow! I was out of state, so could not be there for last week-ends' event, therefore missed out on the salad. But the great thing is: look how many folks have checked into the website, to let us know one way or another, that they had a good time even if they got sick. Way to go, committee.

Hi!  GREAT reunion.  Had a great time.  I ate everything & did not get sick.  Always thought I had a cast iron stomach. I went with Betty Baca Eredia & told her about so many getting sick since she doesn't get on this website.  She told me she also got sick.  She thought it was something she ate outside of the reunion dinner.  She even went to the doctor since she was so sick.  Hope everyone is feeling better now.  Betty, Irene Ortiz & I look forward to the next decade reunion.  Thx to all on the committee.  GOOD job!

Well with all this talk, I’m just wondering how you (all) feel about the ‘flu shot’.   Are you getting one?

A huge "thank you" to the organizers of the 60's reunion! You all did an amazing job! It was great connecting with so many people that I have known for over 70 years.

As for getting ill, I was achey and cold Monday night but that was it. So sorry to those of you who were under the weather.

I did not get sick but I ate all my salad: green and pasta. ???? I didn't eat the meat or roll.

Sorry for everyone that had to travel in that condition.  Not fun on an airplane.

It was a great party.  Thank you to all of you for the work you put into the planning.

See you in 2023!!!!

Hi Paula, It was great seeing you at the "All 60's Reunion." I would love to have talked more with you. I would like to share a story about your mom and me. When I was about 12, my dad bought me a new 3-speed English bike with skinny tires. I was used to riding the big balloon tires on the levee and through the fields. I rode over to your house and was showing your mom how fast I could go on your driveway! She had a big smile on her face and would exclaim, "OH MY!" and encourage me. I loved your mom!

Dear Classmates:  The 60s Reunion, I am sure, was well organized by all those hard workers who always come to the plate to do the work and always make it so much fun for everyone.  I did not attend this year, however, maybe the next big deal.  Reading all the comments, either good or sad about illness, it is still nice to hear about everyone out there in the world.  Friends still staying connected on the Forum is so refreshing.  Smokey, I know you do some hard work, as well as Marilee, Eldon and Shelly, Debbie; just to name a few.    I did see a few few pictures of the event, more would be nice to see.  Take care and just remember the best.

Despite getting ill, the reunion was a fantastic event. My sister and I really enjoyed ourselves and the food was delicious! Thanks to everyone involved in pulling it together.

My wife Karen and I attended the 60s reunion and enjoyed it, driving from Oakland and staying overnight in Woodland with my sister Marsha and her husband Dennis Gorman.  It was well-organized, the margaritas were good, and the food was delicious—especially the barbecued chicken--and we had no ill aftereffects.  It was good to see classmates, although low attendance from us old folks of the Class of 1960.  Thanks to the organizers and thanks also to Robert Cowing whose periodic updates I appreciate.  Larry Michalak

I talked with a friend who works at CDPH and he wondered if anyone has contacted the caterer? It would be good to know how many of the attendees actually got sick. Some of my friends were still suffering almost a week after the event

My nursing education is coming out but definitely the caterers and Yolo County health department needs to be notified as so so many were sick!!!

I counted 71 people that responded on this site of being ill but then I'm sure that not everyone is on the website...?

Dee (Marilee) Damsen (Kindelt) (1965)

As many of you have indicated they had a good time at the reunion inspite of the "D" situation, we are grateful for all of your responses and glad you attended and had a good time.  In response to all who have suggested to contact the caterer, this was done immediately and the health dept was also contacted.  Again, we regret this unfortunate situation - things just happen.  I personally stand behind the caterer and hope this does not tarnish her excellent reputation!  Again, thank you all for your comments and your loyal attendance for the reunion.

To jump in on the "Gastro" issues....no problem!  We ate late and consumed all our food without issue!  Thank you Reunion Planning Committee for a great event!!

It was good to see you too at the reunion.

Update on the gastro-intestional issue that marred an otherwise (by all accounts) wonderful reunion event Sept 15th.

Debbie Wetzel and I realized this was an issue on Thurs the 20th (Message Forum reports started Wed afternoon) and formally reported it to the health dept Thurs evening.  Lewis Kimble is the Supervising Environmental Health Specialist that we are dealing with there. We have talked by phone and emails last Friday and today.  They initiated an investigation and been in contact  with the Caterer (Anderson's Catering out of Winters/Dixon) and the fairgrounds.  Since Anderson's works out of a kitchen in Dixon, Solano County Environmental Health is investigating there.  We gave Lewis a list of attendees and said we could contact them if warranted.  We are keeping him appraised of the number and type of compliants received (107 and principally stomach cramps and diarrhea, with essentially no fever or vomiting).  Anderson's reportedly has had no similar issues in Yolo County before this.

There are at least two separate aspects of this: one is County Health action and the second is what if anything can/should we do to make this right.   We expect an update from Solano Enviornmental Health this afternoon, and will be seeking input from the Reunion Planning committee at a meeting next week.

If folks are still experiencing symptoms, you should consider seeing your doctor.  If you request a stool sample, it may shed light on that is causing this.

More to follow.

Just wanted to add my name to the list of reunion attendees that were sick after our reunion.  The Reunion on Saturday and picnic on Sunday were wonderful, saw lots of old friends, and had a great time.  I  got sick on Sunday evening and was really sick all day Monday.  My husband ate everything I did, but did not get sick.

Had a great time at the reunion. Got very sick.

Hope we have another one soon, without the sick part.
