W. Randall McGriff - Class Of 1965 VIEW PROFILE

Feb. 11, 1947 - Nov. 26, 2011

William Randall (Randy) McGriff, a longtime resident of Sacramento, and a native of Woodland, died suddenly at the age of 64 on Saturday, Nov. 26, 2011. Randy was the beloved son of Robert and Camilla McGriff of Woodland, and Ann Jordan of Lewiston. He was born on Feb. 11, 1947.

Randy served his country as a U.S. Marine during two tours of Vietnam and remained active in events sponsored by the Marine Corps. Following his time in the military, Randy developed his skills as a cook and spent his career as a chef at several Sacramento locations. Randy enjoyed reading about history, fishing and time spent with his family.

Randy is survived by his children, Andrew McGriff and wife Andi, Amanda Booth and husband Doug, and Shaun McGriff and wife Jenny. He is also survived by grandchildren, William, Aidan and Caleb Booth, Makenzie, Kaylin and Ashlyn McGriff and Bryce Mulahuland and Aria Allen. Also surviving are siblings, Maureen Meszaros, Shelly McGriff and Ann Thomas, Sandelle McGriff, Shauna St. Cloud and husband Mike, Todd McGriff and wife Barbara, and Janine Matta and husband Guy. Randy also leaves his best friend Tom Furtado; and ex wives, Darlene McGriff and Peggy Farrell.

Randy was preceded in death by his brother, Patrick; and bother-in-law, Ed Meszaros.

A celebration of life was held at American Legion Post 77, 523 Bush St., Woodland. In lieu of flowers, send donations to the Marine Corps League 627 - Toys For Tots, P.O. Box 1015, Woodland, 95776; or to a favorite charity .
