(By posting in this forum, you acknowledge that you have read and will abide by these rules.)

The website was continued after the 2013 reunion for the enjoyment of the members.  They shouldn't be subjected to annoying posts when they come to the Message Forum.  Forums work when people participate - so don't be bashful.  But be respectful.  This may seem like a private chat room, but 800 of your classmates have access to it (along with ~two dozen of our former teachers), and many more classmates read than participate.  

The administrators reserve the right to refuse service to anyone.  Access and participation on this forum is not a right, it is a privilege and abuse may result in suspension or revocation of WHS60s site access at any time.  

Abuse includes but is not limited to personal attacks, offensive, demeaning, excessive or nonsensical posts, badgering, foul language, etc.  It is not a place to disparage others, especially deceased classmates.  Posting involving politics or religion are prohibited as they typically and quickly become offensive/demeaning.    

We don't actively monitor the forum, but respond to complaints and take action as deemed appropriate.

I was so sad to see that Jim Ehrke passed away!  My condolences to the whole family!!  Jim was always so pleasant, so friendly!  Always so nice!  Karen & kids, Jeanette and all of you--everyone could tell family was the center of Jim's world!  You all made him so proud!  
He will be missed!

OK Bernie, here's a question: "Does anyone remember what Car Clubs were in Woodland in the 60's and does anyone still have the aluminum plates for those clubs?? Post some pix of the cars or the plates :-)

We started this car club in 1962 right after I bought my 32 from a guy in Sacramento.  I still have my club jacket so several years ago my wife had a poster made from the back of my jacket. Also have my club plaque. I think Joe Heidrix still owns my 32.

Jim just dug this out of the garage.  He said they met in the back of Karl's Shoes.  Their jackets were blue with white sleeves, I think!

Thanks for digging out the aluminum plates (Larry and Jim) and everyone else that tossed in the memories. There has to be more car pix than Larry's 32 (I remember that car Larry!!). I run into David Tafoya at car swaps and I know he has many memories of the car clubs, so hopefully he will add this this post!!

Bill Leake, a 1964 WHS graduate, passed away on April 16th in Fremont, CA where he lived. His services will held on the following dates:

• Monday, April 22d,Viewing at 5 pm, Rosary at 6:30 pm at the Fremont Memorial Chapel, 3723 Peralta Blvd, Fremont.
• A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, April 23rd at 11am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish, 41933 Blacow Road in Fremont. A Reception will follow.
• On Wed April 24th, Bill will be buried in Woodland at St. Joseph's Cemetery for family only.
• A Get Together with Bill Leake's Family will follow at 3pm at Mojo's Bar in Woodland, corner of First and Bush Streets. All are invited to attend to share stories and celebrate the life of Bill Leake, a life well lived.

A memorial service will be held for Don Murdoch at 11:00 am on May 17th at the Elks Lodge, 500 Bush Street.

Don never forgot the Class of "62 or Woodland High.  He served us again and again at reunion after reunion and in between.  Let's not forget him.

Unfortunately, I am on an extended road trip and will miss Don's memorial.  Bill T

I thoroughly enjoy my three summer camps at Harvey West Boy Scount Camp with Troop 69.  I still try to get up to Echo Lake on accasion to walk in or take the ferry to upper Echo thru the small channel connecting the two lakes.  I have tried to find our old camp site, but not sure I have actually discovered the former camp site.  The camp was closed down many years ago for sanitary reasons.  Evidently, the septic systems were not designed to handle the volume of a camp of that size.  It is now back to an all natural state again.  Not sure if it was deeded over to the Forrest Service or still in the West Family.  Any other input?

Kathleen (Kay) Rominger (Huff) (1968)

I am saddened to report the passing of my brother-in-law, Charles Langston (Class of 1960), a longtime Woodland resident. Charles lived a full life, with service to the Yolo County farming community, youth sports, California National Guard and his family. He will be dearly missed. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, May 20, 2024, at McNary’s Chapel, 458 College St., Woodland.
