Greg Kareofelas (1962)

Hi Charlotte, It was really good seeing you and you said it perfect. ALL of the folks that made the reunion sucessful (AND maintain this website) make the weekend possible - thanks to ALL who were involved. I still live close to Woodland, so getting over was easy - thanks to all that travelled and their appearance added to the experience. Stay healthy :-)

Vern Larson (1960)

Thank you Charlotte and Greg for your comments on the "All 60's Reunion." I too would like to express my thanks and appreciation for all those who have dedicated their time and talents to making this grand reunion and this wonderful website a success! The only thing I regret is not being able to see and talk with everyone. I did position myself at the table next to the line forming for dinner so I was able to see and talk with many of you as you passed by. Thanks also to those who came up and introduced yourselves to me. I am looking forward to reading your comments on this website and staying in touch. God be with us til we meet again.

We hope you all had a good time at the reunion; however, we still have some unfinished business??  There was a mans ring turned in towards the end of the evening.  We were hoping that someone would have mentioned the loss on this forum - thus this message.  If you or you know of someone who lost a ring, please contact me (gmadee4@att.net) with a description and we will try to get it back to you as soon as possible.  Hope to reunite this keepsake with the proper person!!  Dee Kindelt

To: Attendees of the 60's reunion dinner held September 15, 2018 at the Yolo County Fair grounds.  I feel that it is important to alert attendees of a possible health issue.  I hate to be a "loose stool" pigeon but I got really sick on Monday.  I'm still sick today. Another attendee stopped by my house today and he has also been really sick.  I hadn't thought much about it until my friend shared similar symptoms to mine.  I then contacted the couple that sat across from us. They both got sick plus they gave me the names of 4 more people that had gotten sick.  It doesn't sound like a coincidence to me.

If you attended the reunion dinner and have experienced flu like symptoms since this weekend, I recommend that you report it here on the forum.   It's important that this caterer know what has happened.

Thank you.

I am also expierencing, since SATURDAY NIGHT, those systems. I ate green salad and both meats and drank water. I know of three others going through it too. Linda Lopez

This is Linda Easterly. I'm glad you mentioned this because my husband Gary and I have both been sick since Monday. We both had dinner that night but we couldn't figure out where we picked this flu like symptoms.

I just wanted to say "thank you" to the organizers of the "Sixties"  Reunion!  Dinner, Saturday night, was yummy!  Barely finished!  Catching up with old friends, while sharing this meal was just so great!  Then, Sunday, at the park, we were provided with a very nice box lunch.  Just the perfect amount of food.  I can't wait to get the class photo.  The Memorial wall was very touching.  I can't believe we have lost so many of our classmates. Thank you again!   Rosemary (Leventon) Hartwig-1965

Carol Dunton (Stone) (1968)

Well, I didn’t eat the beef but I had a bite of chicken, then I ate the green salad and the pasta salad.  I got slightly sick.  My husband, on the other hand, ate everything and was very sick for 2 days. Yuck!

I invited my older brother, Leon, WHS "54", and wife Annalee, also my sister Maurine, "Marty" Mackie, WHS, 58". They all became sick as did my wife, Anna, and myself. My little brother Eldon Larson, "64", and his wife Shelly Hawk, "64", also became sick. As I memtioned a few posts ago, I had positioned myself at a table where everybody was forming to get their dinner and I was so involved meeting and talking with classmates as they filed past that I ate very little. But evidently just enough to get sick. My first bout with diarrhea in years, all day the following Monday. On a positive note...I did lose several pounds.

I was sick on Monday, too.

Betty Ciemny (Gastineau) (1964)

I ended up getting sick but not til Wednesday.. I believe it was slow coming on because I have a “cast iron” system and seems to have lasted only one day. I am staying with my sister, Vicki, and we have been eating the same things except for the reunion dinner. I gobbled mine down and Vic just picked at hers. She was nauseated for a couple of days and like I said, it didn’t hit me until Wednesday. Another friend of ours got sick Saturday night.

Belinda Schuyler (Wetmore) (1969)

My husband and I also got sick starting on Monday.  We ate the green salad and the pasta salad.

Greg Kareofelas (1962)

Just so that you get total numbers :-) "Me Too", :-)& for me, it was Monday morning. It looks like it affected all the classes and being that we kind of ate "in order" I'm guess that what ever was "bad" was not just something served early on. The Caterer should be notified, I still had a good time and glad I went to the reunioun , but maybe next time, I'll pack a sandwich :-)

Lynnel Eilola (Pollock) (1963)

I have heard of several who have been sick including my husband.  Seems like it was something from the Saturday dinner, as some were not at the picnic.

I had cramps on my flight home and luckily got there before the fireworks erupted. Glad to here it was run of the mill reunion food that was the culprit.

The reunion was greated and had a wondrfil time although I too started feeling sick on Monday, but my husband was not.  Still feeling it today, Thursday.

September 20, 2018

So sorry that so many have been under the weather, which sounds in part to the meal on Saturday evening (I ate the salad and maybe two small bites of the chicken) I too became a regular visitor to the “white throne” from early morning on Sunday through yesterday evening. I have been a little surprised that I was feeling like the flu had dropped every bug possible into my system - with you all indicating your experiences from Saturday’s meal - it now makes sense!!!  Today, Thursday I am just a bit dehydrated - so a lot of Gatorade!!!

Aside to the inconvenience and result of the meal; the gathering was a great opportunity to see folks who were and have been significant in our lives and history.

Staying hydrated, and looking forward to our next gathering; like Greg - I too will bring a sandwich 🌸😁🌸

In gratitude,

Charlotte

Please add my name and my wife, Jan, on the list as getting the "Super Runs" since coming home from the reunion dinner.  It hit me right after the dinner and had my first bathroom incident at the fairgrounds.  Jan got sick Sunday and is still chained to the toilet as of Thursday.  You need to find out if this Salmonella and where it came from.  Also, the county health dept. needs to be informed.  I was lucky as I got over it fast but believe me, it was not fun as I am a truck driver on the road.  We know of 4 other attendees that are sick too.

Jim Rumsey (1961)

Unfortunately I must add myself to the "afflicted" list. Mine hit Tuesday and Wednesday with similar symptoms to previous posts. Feeling better today. On a more positive note the whole experience was wonderful - my hats off to those who planned/organized and pulled off the event. Will be looking  forward to the next one......

Add me to the list.  What I thought was the "flu" started very early Tuesday. Still feel a little off.

David Hughes (1967)

I became ill Sunday night after the reunion.  I did not loose (pun intended) the symptoms until Wednesday evening.  I would like to help the reunion committee solve this problem which appears to originate from the Caterer.  So, who from the reunion committee made arrangements with the Caterer so I can contact them and assist wherever I can.  dave hughes
