Theresa Eve (1964)

Just had a nice telephone call from Sharon Little Boatman, Class of 1964.  She will not be attending our Class Reunion this September; however, she extends her best wishes to all the classmates.  I just want to add that Sharon is a very accomplished quilter and tole painting artist.  She lives in Emmett, Idaho in a home she and her husband Ken designed.  Ken has passed.  But her son Matthew lives next door.  Sharon makes quilts to donate to the Veterans each Year.  It is an annual event in Emmett.   Her phone number is:  208 284-4610.  She loves to chat.  Here she is with her son Matthew and her father, Mr. Little; who has passed.  Sharon made both the quilts.

I noticed Nancy Sans is on the list of unknown addresses. Nancy lives in San Francisco and is one of the most successful and talented Holy Rosary and WHS '64 alumni. Among her other accomplishments is that she was a primary writer for Sesame Street from 1984 to 2002.

She was recently interviewed on Jake's Happy Nostalgia Show (Episode 129).

Rick, you guys have done a great job on this reunion and I look forward to seeing everyone tha's left in September.

Mike:  Thank you for your post.  The Committee has researched Nancy with her great talented history.  Anne Loud and Rick Gonzales, have the information you provided.  We did watch the interview of Nancy.  However, we were not able to obtain a mailing address for her in San Francisco.  We did speak to Liz Geer also to help.  Unfortunately, no address so far.

Remember the 1964 Woodland High School Class Reunion this September 7th.    Get your hotel reservations if you are coming from out of town.  Best to get set early. Smokey Rico and the Committee have been working hard on this event. Rick Gozales has really gone door-to-door to connect with all class members.

I remember parking my bike in the alley behind the Spudnut at the end of my 4AM paper route. I'd take a Sacramento Union newspaper in through the back door and watch them make those wonderful Spudnuts. Of course I always hung around long enought to get a free hot chocolate and a Spudnut. No wonder I fell asleep in class every day.

Looking Back in Time!

Greg thank you for the Spudnut Shop Post.  I loved that place, with red seats all lined up, usually full as customers had to wait.  Mother would take us there on Saturday mornings when we drove over from Dixon to visit my Aunt June who lived on Walnut Street, near the park.  Those Spudnuts were the best!!!  I remember the men, and loved all the white uniforms.  The lady's apron is great.

Great article! I don't know how true it is, but I was told, or maybe read an article, that the actor, Sebastian Cabot, always stopped and ate at the Chicago Cafe, when driving through. Does anyone remember that?

Tim Tucker (1965)

Janice. I saw him at the Hong Kong Cafe on a couple of occasions.

When I worked at Western Auto Sebastian Cabot would come in the back door to buy our cheap oil for his Rolls

Burke Fong (1967)

Sebastian Cabot was an avid pheasant hunter. My dad owned Fong's Cafe in the late 1950s/early 1960s. Sebastian would come into our restaurant to eat breakfast before going hunting. That's when I met him. He frequented our restaurant for several years.

You are right Burke, a number of famous people came to, thru Yolo county for Pheasant Hunting. Even my Grandma Kareofelas  hunted Pheasants - Knights Landing, 1937

Janet Long (Levers) (1966)

Now there are hardly any pheasants!

Clark Gable was known for coming to Yolo County to hunt.  He also travel up to Beringer's Winery.  Clark Gabel was married to Kay Spreckles, after  Carole Lombard, his true love. Carole died in a plane crash. He had cufflinks made from her diamond earrings.

Joan Richter (Lucchesi) (1960)

You're right, Janet. I can't remember the last time I saw them. Clark Gabel used to hunt at my aunt and uncle's ranch in Grimes and stayed at the Hotel Woodland.
