Bill Bucher (1966)

Hello all!!! Bill Bucher (1966) here. I just want to say I sold my old 1948 five window coupe, Chevy pick-up to the son of the Branigans. One person above said Ron, I don't remember. He did take out the six & replaced with an eight cylinder engine. That's all I know about Branigan's. I don't remember eating them back then, but, recently I found one of their boxes in my garage, ???.     Now, for the reason I came to this site in the 1st place.  I ASKED Robert if he knew how 2 get my old Ilex's from1963 to 1966. He said I should put my question here. So, can anyone HELP???  My only thought is that one of the Class Officers of old or the current WHS Staff can advise us on how to find out. I ask that one of you folks that still live in Woodland could check & see. 🆗?  Thanks, Bill

Hey! That looks like my Dad's ol' Ford Ranchero that I used to get to borrow once in awhile. I remember I could barely see over that humongous steering wheel!  I'm sure there were others like it around but it brought a smile to my face to see this one. Thanks.

Hey Jenny, I was thinking the same thing but didn't want to make it sound like by memories are still in tact.

Love the classic Red and White, Ranchero, Ford!  In the Woodland Christmas Parade!  Are there any other classic cars in the Parade?  I remember how lovely the Woodland Christmas Parades were in the olden days.  Hope someone can take a few pictures of the parade to share.  It always marked the real season of Christmas in Woodland.  Or, maybe a few of those classic Woodland homes decorated for Christmas would add to our viewing! We finally have some rain today!!!!  Keep it coming!!!

Getting ready for Christmas with the house decorated and now moving into the kitchen to start the traditional gingerbread people, this was started in 1964 and has been something I do each year.  Just made up the dough and ready to roll them out tomorrow.  I am sure other people have a tradition they do each Christmas to add to the cheer.  Let's see what you do.  Merry Christmas !

Theresa,

We put up the Christmas Village each year. We started with a church and a bank , and put each one on one of our Infinity speakers. Next year we said we need a house , and so the tradition went on, along with making Pizelles, and having a Christmas Open House each year. We are on year number 23  of the open house and year number 20 of the village.  We  do a dinner for about 10 of our neighbors now , each year.  I always go up higher in the mountains after Christmas to see the snow, and pine trees. I live in the valley in AZ. so not too much snow (some on Four Peaks right now, i can see it right out of my kitchen window) and maybe about ten pine trees in the area, one is in my backyard.Other than that; it is a four day weekend for us and of course, the real reason for Christmas is why we celebrate it . Merry Christmas to all. Tuni

Theresa E. I forgot to say my grandmother always made Gingerbread cookies every Christmas, and those of yours look delicious and they are decorated so nicely too. I had a hankering for Gingerbread cookies. Tuni

Tuni:  I gues Gingerbread people are just a part of Christmas.  Great to hear what your family did and continue to do for the Christmas Spirit.  Closing for the night; but up early to continue the project.

Want to post couple of things to our fellow Woodland Wolves..................Yesterday Vicki and myself reached our 49th wedding anniversity 12/18/166......................Spent the day watching our eldest Grandson get his degree from Sac State Univ............Next when I got home, I got a email from a military group I belong too, telling me about a filming of our return trip to Korea after 50 years...............It has been postponed twice before, but now we are told it will be show on CNN on the 21st of December at 5PM EST, which means for us out here in California is 2PM PST...If you find yourselves with free time take a look see..............Merry Christmas and Happy New Years to the Classes of 65 and 66...."Old" WHS Rocks!"......................Update 12/25/15.............The back to Korea piece never made regular CNN viewing time slots......It can be found on CNN Video's, but at this late time I'm thinking they (CNN) have moved on...It was only 2:08 minutes of film and only one member of your group got to talk..I was just should on the laste 8 seconds...I expected more, but CNN proved me wrong.........

Hi all!

I haven't posted in awhile...but after reading about some of you cooking Gingerbread, it reminded me of a story I'd like to share. When I was still in CA & working as an Executive Assistant to a hospital CEO, we had a German doctor on staff who gave his employees and others the same gift every year. It was a huge Gingerbread man (which he ordered by the case straight from his homeland). By the way, Gingerbread Houses originated in Germany during the 16th Century & the record for the World's largest Gingerbread House was held by the Mall of America here in MN until 2006 when a GH was erected in TX spanning 40K cubic feet. But I digress....back to the thoughtful gift given by the doctor. While one never wants to look a gift horse in the mouth...I must say these were the most horrible, stale Gingerbread men specimens ever made! You could break a tooth on them! Our kind doctor prided himself on giving them out each year & would even "warn" us when they were coming. Lol No one had the heart to tell him they were awful & we graciously received them year after year with a thankful heart knowing he meant well. (But I think I would have tasted them before giving them as gifts! Lol)

And we have had several turkey sightings here in MN. I'm on my phone & can't see how to post photos from it, but might try later on my laptop.

Wishing you all a Happy New Year!
