The date of this pic is Dec 1951, My Sister Sue's Kindergarten Christmas Play, probably at the old Parish Hall on Walnut Street?

Greg:  Great Christmas picture from the past.  I can see Sue as the angel, as she is the sweetest, in my eyes, with that dark hair.  Lovely picture.  Thank you so much for sharing.  I also enjoyed the Woodland Parade pictures.  Rain today, it is the season.  My best to all.

Jim Barger, thanks for posting that sign. your out fit the128th was right below us. the 128th got hit pretty hard dearing the tet. especially from Zion, our own people. 105 Howitzers took out the back enlistment quarters.

we lost a lot of good men that night. our out fit lost 25 good men, including our first sargent. I think I have a picture of our sign of the 213th Blackcats I well try to find it and post it as well.

Glad to see all the Holiday Cheer popping up on this......Funny how the Viet Nam War is still a hot topic after all these years, I served a little farther north in a place everyone wants to and did forget about, but still was a tuff haul in 66......About a post on the make up of the different layers of kids in Woodland in the 60's........Ya, I came from Sacramento in 59, my mother remarried a local fireman who worked for the city.....I started out at 5th grade in Mrs Cargo's class at Beamer School, then Lee, on to WHS.......Fellow Wolf you are correct some layers of kids were very hard to get to know....Some will say "I'm trying to start  a class war", couldn't be farther from the truth, I had some friends in many levels of Woodland society, but mostly stayed to myself until I met and started going steady with my girlfriend ( still with her 56 years later) and just working at the local gas stations (Beacon and Norwalk) until I left for the Army in 6/65............I think our fellow Wolf should just chalk it up to small town folks.  I found this out as it's the same in the place I have lived since 1976, if you weren't born here, you are not a native and I've been here 43 years and deeply envoled in local politics, but still thought of as a newbie.....The town was 90K in 76, which was at the time 3 times the size of my home town then, now it's over 210K and they still classify folks as newbies if you weren't born here..........Oh well, still miss seeing some of the fellows I grew up with, but some of them have gone to glory and no longer here, the others, well I wish you all nothing but the best, and that goes for the past ladies in my life during per time before VH....Keep up the disussion always good to see and hear updates...........Peace and Goodwill to you all, I'm off to see Star Wars with my son and friend.....Hasta la Bye Bye

Thank you for all the Vietnam history and the connection to the Black Cats, which I did not realize had continued on after World War II.  All the great service people need to be recognized at all times, in appreciation for some hard work!!!  Freedom is not free.  A very blessed Christmas to all.

Keeping with the Military theme:  Please remember.......not all will be home for Christmas.  God bless those that serve.  The Virtual Wall - VietNam Veterans Memorial list nine (9) classmates that made the ultimate sacrifice.  One of those was SSGT William C. Shinn (MIA) who, to my knowledge, has yet to be returned home. We shall never forget.

Great real to life pictures of Nietnam, a real war we totally did not give credit to those who served.  I so want to state my appreciation for all of those service people, dogs and all.  Glad for those who returned.  Sad and blessings for those who did not return.  A heartfilled blessings.
