Ground Rules

(By posting in this forum, you acknowledge that you have read and will abide by these rules.)

The website was continued after the 2013 reunion for the enjoyment of the members.  They shouldn't be subjected to annoying posts when they come to the Message Forum.  Forums work when people participate - so don't be bashful.  But be respectful.  This may seem like a private chat room, but 800 of your classmates have access to it (along with ~two dozen of our former teachers), and many more classmates read than participate.

The administrators reserve the right to refuse service to anyone.  Access and participation on this forum is not a right, it is a privilege and abuse may result in suspension or revocation of WHS60s site access at any time.

Abuse includes but is not limited to personal attacks, offensive, demeaning, excessive or nonsensical posts, badgering, foul language, etc.  It is not a place to disparage others, especially deceased classmates.  Posting involving politics or religion are prohibited as they typically and quickly become offensive/demeaning.

We don't actively monitor the forum, but respond to complaints and take action as deemed appropriate.

I think Tony illustrates my point.  He proposes that NOONE should be removed for ANY reason.  Not for offensive pictures or videos, not for foul and abusive language, not for demeaning or disparaging others, not for revealing private information to embarrass or harass another member, not for ANY reason.  That was my point exactly.  Some from our liberal social culture feel it is anything goes at any time.  I guess I am just greatful he is not the administrator.

Tom Stewer, I so support that people need to be held accountable for their actions.  I don't know what has happened to California in the last 50 years!  Our parents would never have allowed this to go on.  I'm so glad I left in 1973 to live in Texas, I can't say I'm proud to be a Califorinian anymore.  Such a sad state now!  I'm Thankful for all the fond memories I have fo the years gone by, some good and some bad, but I survived and wish everyone could be more respectful of each other views.  I rarely post, but I feel this needs to be said.  So glad to be a reborn Texan.

Just to clarify. No topics are prohibited on this site. For instance a discussion about internment of Yolo County Japanese citizens during WWII seems perfectly okay. But I for one have encouraged people to stay away from politics on the site as it seems to trigger people into the kind of heated dialogue you see all over social media these days. Which leads to what is NOT okay on this site. I quote from the rules:

"Abuse may result in suspension or revocation of WHS60s site access at any time.  Abuse includes but is not limited to personal attacks, offensive, demeaning, excessive or nonsensical posts, badgering, foul language, etc."

I'm afraid my old classmate broke just about every one of these rules. It's not so much what he said but how he said it. So feel free to start a discussion about whatever you like. Just be kind to one another. We're getting old and you don't want to give anybody a heart attack.

And again I plead for you to save your "us against them" type of politics for some other site. I can avoid turning on FOX News or MSNBC but it's hard to ignore your comments that show up in my in-box.

Kris Murray (Wicklund) (1969)..... I also moved to Texas in 2009.

I lived in the Dallas area until 2013.  I have two sons and four grandchildren living in Dallas/Austin.  Seems like a lot of Californians have moved to Texas for a better, more affordable life style, but they brought their politics with them and slowly Texas is being converted into another California.  It is now in play for national elections which it never was before, and many say it is due to immigration.

It reminds me of people moving to Phoenix to escape the polution and pollen of other regions of the nation but they brought their trees and shrubs with them and the air quality and pollen count began to escalate.  Go figure!

I have asked to be removed from this board. Free speech is either free ot it is not. Once you start dropping people for the reasons you dropped Mayfield, you have made this board a disgrace to the constitution which I still, after beign a trial lawyer for 34 years, still believe in. Too many whiners in this world already. Tony DeMaria

Aye! Tim Tucker!! The "Squeaker" was mean-spirited, condescending and beligerent; none of which are flattering traits on anyone.

As a natural born Texan who lived there way too long, I've been back in the Golden State since 2013 and feel at home again! Good Grief, Charlie Brown!!!!! This national devisiveness is depressing.

What I need now is a Tim Tucker joke, please.....

Tom (fellow Beamer School crossing guard). Your humor might be a little too intellectual for my old brain.

Here's my speed: I forgot to pack a lunch on my trip to Bodega Bay, so I had to eat the sand which is on the beach.

I must say it's sad to see the Forum changing, so many hurt and or virtuous ideologies finding their way to the pages of the stream in this group.  I for one enjoy most of what is printed, but keep in mind that it's only a very small percent of the group that adds to the daily messages.  Most of our different class groups could or do care less about what is said, or for that matter printed on the fly of said group.  Must I say,  we all need to remember you are all free to read or not read, you can follow the post's or not...No one and I say "No One" is forcing any of us to follow this group.  I'm very thankful that it's here and I'm hoping it lasts a bit longer.  I've lived in other states, didn't find them that much better than where I came from, that why I came back and stay where I am, plain and simple. Calif is tuff and takes lot's of work to make it work, but it just the way it is.  We let it get that way, so now it's up to us to clean it or straighten it out.  We are living in what we allowed it to become, there it is.........I'm in it for the long haul.........  So bottom line if you choose to leave, well then "Bye" , don't broadcast it, just go.  I wish all the best and Peace...........My 2 cents...............

Below is the notice posted in the forum advising of a suspension, with reinstatement contingent on agreement with, and intent to comply with the forum guidelines.  The classmate requested reinstatement but considers the guidelines  "a crock'.  It is his call; always has been.

02/10/20 11:51 PM #5700

Bernard Rocksvold (1965)

Keep the guidelines! Places like this are a priviledge, not a right. So those that think their right to free speech is curtailed here may need to go someplace else to exercise their "unresticted" free speech.

By the way, if you care to check, there are many restrictions / laws limiting certain free speech. The LAWYERS and politicians made those laws and restrictions. You'd think they'd know how to respect rules and guidelines.

So if you can't play by the rules here, take your keyboard and go elswhere. Oh! and have a nice trip.

Rant over,

Bernard

My dear classmates and friends,

I would like to express my gratitude for the wonderful people who have selflessly made this remarkable website possible for us all to enjoy and renew past memories of former classmates and friends. We “ALL” have a common bond, that in some instances, started from kindergarten, and in a few cases even before. I am one of the fortunate ones that still have friends on this website from as early as 2 or 3 years old. To me, this is a treasure that I hold most dearly. I want you all to know, that even if I don’t personally know you, you are still my classmates and friends from Woodland and I truly love each and everyone of you. I look forward to any future reunions where I can put my arms around you and give you a big hug!

“GO WOLVES!!!”

Hiya Gary,

Do you remember the night we put a couple of gallons of what we thought was gas into your dad's car. Turned out to be diesel fuel. Had to stop on the way home to let the exhaust manifold cool off, as it was glowing red hot. Can't remember how much trouble you got into, or if we ever fixed that engine.

Bernard

Gary,

It was Butch Zuniga's place. He and I worked in the beet fields together. He told me about an unlocked gas tank on the farm that Don Stewart (Patty Zuniga's boyfriend) and a couple of other people were getting gas from and I should come over and help myself. Since we were out in the country and out of gas, late at night it seemed like a good idea. I think the owner of the tanks got wise and locked up the gas tank and left the diesel tank unlocked. I guess we learned our lesson that night.

I don't remember Duane. Who was that? I think I remember we pulled the head off that engine in your driveway. Don't remember what went down after that.
