Wow!  A window of opportunity to express my political viewpoint! lol  I haven't seen the previous comments, I just now saw Craig's comment about Trump, and while it's usually not PC to talk openly about political views, I take it someone opened Pandora's Box.  So I'm only too glad to jump on the bandwagon and express my humble opinion.
I'm a registered Republican conservative, but I will also vote for the best 'man' (or woman) regardless of party affiliation.  If you don't believe America is in trouble, or don't take issue with the current administration, you need not read any further.  Yet, conversely, what has the Republican party done for the American people?  I'm sorely disappointed with the libs and the conservatives. Enter Donald Trump who was self-funded for the primaries. Yes, he can be an egomaniac and has given the dems a lot of material to use against him. Yet he's the only one who seems to know what 'we the people' want. Trump may not be a saint, but he doesn't have lobbyist money controlling him.  He doesn't have political correctness restraining him.  We know that he has been very successful and is a good negotiator.  He has successfully built a lot of  impressive projects. He's not a politician - and hasn't had a lifetime to be a polished smooth scripted pc speaker -  because of that he is misunderstood when speaking off the cuff.  (Craig you can relate to that, aye?  lol).  He says he'll fix America's problems.  I believe him because he is too much of an egotist to be proven wrong or to be called a liar.  I don't care if the guy has bad hair.  The alternative is an establishment candidate who is bought and paid for, among other things.
I hope that everyone digs hard to find the truth about both candidates....it isn't always what it seems....nor is it what the biased media portrays.

I fondly remember my Woodland High School days. It was a different time. We could work hard and reach the American Dream.  We weren't born into debt.  We didn't have to worry about our nation becoming socialist/communist depending on  the outcome of the next election.  Our children/grandchildren's futures are at stake.  Our beloved America and our constitution is on the ragged edge....  Be prudent, do your homework, and then get out and vote!  :)

Mike Miller (1966)

Someone needs to do some real fact checking about Trump, the candidate. I fought for my country and don't appreciate my fellow comrades in arms being trod upon as he has done, as he has done as a draft dodger.

He did not self fund his campaign. He received free publicity as we still love to watch wrecks at speedways, blood spilled at prize fights and the circus when it comes to town. And any money he has used to "self fund", has been reimbursed, that is a fact.

He has put good hard working entrepenures out of business, pissed off unions supporting the service industry, bilked retirees out of savings with failed promises of shangrila, sued hundreds of people solely because they disagree with him, and lied more to the American people than lyin' Ted and Hilary put together.

He knows nothing about the world we live in, only the world Trump lives in.

His lack of knowledge of world situations scares me, hell I know more than he does, and that scares me too.

Crap, now I have gone and done what I told myself I would never do..try to reason with a Trump supporter.

I respect your right to wish this individual to be President. But please do so after you have studied the facts, read his history and listen to the stories of those he has harmed. Those stories are out there.

trump represents the evolution of the republican party.  corporatist. covertly racist.  dumbed down. xenophobic.

as a veteran i am disappointed that any american would vote for a man who denigrates veterans from the viet nam war to the current wars around the middle east.

his recent diatribe against the muslim family that lost her son serving our country represents the worst in us as a nation.

practicing my first amendment rights but willing to live peacably under a "well regulated" second amendment.

ROBERT: Well gang . . . it seems Craig unlocked the "Pandora Box" of subjects we are forbidden to discuss.

Craig, as you know from our private discussions, I am all for an open discussion that I hope stays friendly, educational and not mean spirited. I see no reason whay this cannot be accomplished. Do any of you? . . . but maybe it can't . . . I don't know.

We don't need another "civil war" or a group split llike during the Vietnam War where hurt, recrimination, false guilt and social ostratization have permanetly damaged hearts, minds and spirits that need not have been wounded.

Our pollitical and philosphpical observations and statements need to be challenged and questioned. Its O.K., I grow, you grow and others benefit as well. . . . for example . . . Craig said: "An least any still watchin' this site think i'm a Trump fan...LOL...

ROBERT:  I haven't ever thought that about you and Trump. Anyone else think that? Either way, Craig, it is O.K. with me. I don't dislike either of you, it's just that neither of you speparetely or together offer me that much fasciniation to ponder your poliltcal relationship. I'm just a "wild and crazy guy", I guess.

Craig . . ."course voting will seem to be... which of the lesser of two evils...

ROBERT: It does appear that way doesn't it . . . can we weigh the "evils" on both sides and see how they compare? . . . the positives too?

Craig: "But...can't stomach the idiot blowhard...not for President.

ROBERT: Yes, Trump "blows hard" in the press and on stage.  I agree.  Annoying sometimes.

But Trump is not an "idiot." First the term "idiiot" is a psychohlgocal medical dtermination based on I.Q. and social functioning and/or lack thereof.   Specifically, those who have an IQ between 0 - 25 are idiots; IQs between 26 - 50 are considered imbeciles; and those who have an IQ between 51 - 70 are considered morons. Morons are considered  "mentally retarded" or they have the highest level of intelligence for someone considered "mentally retarded."  I suspect Trump's I.Q. is either equal or higher than yours Craig but i cannnot prove it.

ROBET: Craig, I only chose you because(1) you began the open discussion, (2) your comments were wonderfully short and of course (3) not complicated, thank goodness, at least, for my sake!

ROBERT: Sherry, Mike, Julie and Dan . . . each of you need to discuss some of your statements by peeling away some of the emotion and educating us with facts, stats etc. .  . . I hope, please.

ROBERT: Speaking of presidents . . . General Grant a drunk . . . Andrew Jackson, racist  pare excellence . . . Wilson, set back racial equallity to before the Civil War when he separated blacks from whites in the military, just for starters . . . Taft morosely obese . . . . Truman, potty mouth and often very unpleasant . . . Kennedy, skirt chaser and addicted to pain pills .  . . Clinton, rapist? . . . Nixon, where to begin! !!? . . . i am sure there are more but these quuickly came to mind.

Well, everybody . . . lets weigh the evils and postives and see what appears to us "out-of-the-dark."

Robert...No more to be said........the days at the Old WHS spelled which way each of the class mates we knew had different views...different friendship as to where we lived.   and the which group we were comfortable to hang around  with........is the way we wanted to think..........which occupation we were comfortable at...which college..if that was our thought to do .....meant that was our comfort zone.....I look at myself only and happy with how I turn out.........If we did reach their goals...I can not chance that nor do I want to..You live your life the way you want to...you have to look in the mirror each day...........after graduation in 1964....I received my draft notice...that change my goals for awhile...but I did not give up and screwed up....but success comes if we remember what was taught by our great teachers at WHS.........We were all different and lived in different neighborhoods...some great and some not so great...but we were part of Woodland the past which we were a apart of..remember that way...Yes Craig ...U stirred up the Pot once again..That was the way U were in WHS..........so.....like they say ' SHIT ' Happens !

the plane shown in Bee's email I believe is a p-51 mustang set up for teaching purposes; it was the plane the messerchmidts wanted nothing to do with, it shot so many of them down. It was a loser until someone got the bright idea of putting a rolls royce power plant in place of its original engine, and after that , it was Katy bar the door, watch out hitler. tony d

Congratulations Craig, you woke up the WHS alumni masses. Nothing like talk of politics (and religion) to get people's blood pumping. We grew up Democrats when the Democrats firmly stood for the working man and the unions and for civil rights. Things seem to have changed some since the 1960's. Their words ring pretty hollow these days as both parties are responsible for sending so many manufacturing jobs oversees. As both parties stuff their pockets with Wall Street dollars, they deflect our attention with arguments over which bathroom a transgender person should be allowed in. Seems like that is appropriate as politics has gone down the toilet. Hey, it's time for The Price Is Right. Gotta go.

The airplane is an A model P 51, you can tell by the "green house" canopy. Later models had "bubble" canopies.  It's a great airplane and you can have one starting at about a million dollers.  I got to fly one once many years ago, it was awsomely powerful and very very noisy.

Deep breathe…..just my humble opinion; maybe a moot point now, but my final post on politics!

Many people fought for our country, and I’m grateful for your service, but that is not a "prerequisite’ for someone to be President.  (The current president did not serve.)

Speaking of "facts" - A draft dodger is one who was drafted, then refused to enter, left the country to avoid serving, or like Muhammad Ali - burned their draft card, refused, (and in this case) later claimed he's a Muslim and it was "against his religion".  I don't recall Trump doing any of those things, do you?  Instead, he entered into higher education, which by LAW isn't "draft dodging" it’s called DEFERMENT.  It’s not only for the rich. In fact, many "less wealthy" people from the Nam era did the same thing.  It’s LAWFUL, not LAWLESS.  Trump filed for and was granted a deferment. He entered the Military academy in 1968. (The year I graduated WHS.) Had the US Military WANTED to rescind their deferment, he would have HAD TO enter, but they granted his request.

Now about ‘self-funding,’ DT spent $35 million of his OWN Money. He also paid for the gas in his plane, the hotels, the security he employed himself (before the Secret service).  In fact, the way it works is by INVESTMENT LOAN.  Self-funding in this situation is similar to a LOAN.  HE LOANED the GOP 35 Million (or rather put it up) for their backing in re-payment.  Those repayments are given back to Trump.  They get that money from "Donors" TO the GOP.  A short sighted person would then say, "Donors gave Trump money".  (Donors do now, but not initially.)  I’m sure you know that if you buy property or ATTEMPT to run a business yourself, and it doesn't work out, you can write that off your taxes? Or even buy property and if it’s devalued, you can write off the loss? The reason he did it this way was because if he lost, he could write off those losses.  Please don't blame DT for using the system wisely and then try to spin it into he's ‘lying’. He's just smarter than most...

Hmmm, DT’s put out "hard working" people?  Really?  What people?  T- Mobile laid off people, so do other companies…unfortunately, sometimes it has to be done to remain viable.  But DT is the only one criticized for this?  At varying times, the military advises recruits to re-enlist or get out. They aren’t allowed to EXTEND their current enlistment because of Budget concerns.  So, I guess they lay people off too?

He has ticked off unions, really?  It seems to me he has a lot of union members working currently every day, in all of his properties.  How you wondered how many cleaners, servers and varied jobs he has created for people who are still working today?

The success of a business, country, even a sports team isn't measured by how many losses they have, but if they have more WINS than losses. DT exemplifies success…

DT sues people just because they disagree with him? Really? Show me where a lawsuit was filed and the complaint was "He disagreed with me" - AND THEN, where the Court looked at it and said; "Yeah, I think he's got a case here, we'll let it go forward"...

You might want to do your research on the whole ‘Khan” story.  I’d share what I know but I have already taken up too much space with my other comments!

Finally, about lying.  Part of lying is withholding/hiding information.  HilLIARy only lies when her mouth is open…and as a side note, her previous guards have told us about her ‘hot’ temper off camera. So…..I’ll just agree to disagree about the more dangerous person and who’s the real liar. (At least you know DT won’t be stealing the White House China and furniture.)  :)

I believe DT knows EXACTLY the world we live in and that's why everyone, left, right, media, etc. all of them are coming after him. Because if Trump wins, he’s a game changer.....he will clean house of all the corruption and be a voice for ‘we the people’.

I know many on this site don’t have the same VISION for American as I believe was originally planned, nor the same perspective as to which direction we need to go now.  That’s ok, we all have freedom of choice.  I just agree to strongly disagree agreeably.

What’s really at stake here is the Supreme Court Justices.  That should cause us all ‘pause’….

THE END – GO VIKINGS!!!

Thank you Sherry. At first I wasn't going to read your article because of the length, but then I thought I would just skim a little to get the general idea. Once I started I couldn't stop and was hanging on every word. Now I feel it was definately not long enough. You are certainly very informative and put a lot of thought and research into your article. Thank you Sherry!

Well said Sherry. The thing of it is, Donald talks what millions of people think. People are tired of being so politically correct, that they are having  to give up their  constitutional rights. It is the US construction not the world constitution.
