I may have hit those #'s in age but I still like a good conversation and speak my mind...comes with territory........That is another reason I do not hang around people my age......no sense of humor........boring........and have 10,000 reason why they can not do something........life is still great...WHS the old one............I do not think none us have changed much............I would not want U to change...what would we have to talk about...you seem to fuel others and that is a good thing........do not stop or you will get old.....

Wow people...what the hell happened? I originally came to this sight to talk about the A&W, cruizin main, paintin' on the snior street when I was Junior. This really is not the forum for such down in the dirt back and forth. Sorry for contributing to someones original post about politics. You either get him or you don't (and I'm not talking about Craig).

At the moment I am sitting in Cremona sipping on an espresso looking at the Duomo and thinking how lucky we are, and have been.

P.S. a draft dodger is actually someone who does whatever they can to avoid being drafted. Whether before or after being drafted.

P.P.S.  I get ya Craig....go Giants

If your 20 and aren't a liberal you have no heart, but if your 40 (or older) and not conservative, you don't have a brain.  Glad to see some of us have made it out of the sixties.   Love to all Rich

Many voices!  Back to the Red, White and Blue of American and those great service people who have given their lives and who continue to service, no matter what polictical view; they stand up and give for us.  So I see the planes are out! Not the dogs are out, the great planes are out!!    The Sacramento Bee has a great article on the Vintage Aircraft in Sonoma, Cris Prevost's Vintage Aircraft Company.  Some great WWII restored planes, and there it is, the P-51 Mustang fighter plane all restored, worth $1,699.  Rides are provided.  Tony and Greg, thanks for the study on these birds of history.  The men who flew them still have the love in their heart.

My father was a B-17 pilot. He flew 35 missions over Germany and never really talked about it. At one point he was able to land his ship, on fire, with one engine, at the airfield at Thorpes Abbot. If you hve ever been inside one of these you realize what a difficult feet it was. Very cramped, hot and dangerous. He passed away in 2000 and will be missed and remembered always.

Robert, question for you in regards to the "bang for your hundred bucks" chart: how do the president and HRC effect California being on the "losing end" of this? I would much more lay it off to our screwy governorS and legislators, and that fact that we've overpopulated the place way too much and that our climate and culture are a big draws to folks, hence extreme pressure on land/housing/infrastructure dollars. Maybe Nebraska and Kansas, etc. don't have quite the allure, but Obama didn't make them that way.

The Mustang pictured earlier is a P-51C owned by the Collings Foundation.  It has visited Yolo County in past years along with that group's B-24 and B-17.

Here is a link to the Foundation's website page for the P-51C, which has been modified by them to a TP-51C by the addition of a second seat, extended canopy glazing, and dual controls.

http://www.collingsfoundation.org/aircrafts/north-american-tp-51c-mustang/

The P-51 started life with an Allison engine, and was built in several versions with that engine.  It came into its own when the Rolls Royce Merlin engine was adapted to it, giving it very good high altitude performance and long range.  The P-51B and C were externally nearly identical, the only real difference being that B's were built in Inglewood and C's were built in Dallas. Most people are more familiar with the P-51D and K, which had a bubble canopy and were built in the largest numbers.  D's in Inglewood, K's in Dallas.

Woudn't it be nice if the current or any political campaign could be analyzed with such clarity and definition.  I am eternally exasperated with the ease that the process results in such polarization that no one seems to have any interest in managing the mess to a solution that has any benefit whatever to the welfare of the nation.

Craig, my wife and I belong to two national dog clubs. We have done rescue for 30 years. We have come to like the furry friends far more than human.  Now politicians thats a whole other story. But I slipped earlier with post about Trump.  I think if you asked people who they really want for president ,nether one of the two running would be the one.

Robert,

Can that all really be blamed on one or two individuals? Fascinating.

John Eaton, your last paragraph was point on; we should all be using our, thinking skills, WHS education and beyond to try to sort the hype and distortion from the truth. You too, Elvis Kelly: your last sentence was so accurate.

Janet....for some time now I  have thought we need one more selection on the ballot...NONE OF THE ABOVE.

Craig....look at what you started. Good job. It's good to see people talking again, would like to see more involved.

Government doesn't seem to "LEAD BY EXAMPLE" either.  A couple of weeks ago, US Secretary of State John Kerry stated, "refrigerators and air conditioners are as bad as ISIS".  Maybe that's why nearly 45,000 Americans have signed a petition at Change.org to eliminate or removed all air conditioners from US Department of State offices, automobiles, rentals, equipment, etc......Maybe government personnel should sweat a little?

Greetings Everyone....Whenever I get frustrated by anyone's response to anything these days(sports, politics, likes ,and dislikes, etc.) I simply remember my Boy Scout Training and sessions locally, state , regional, and nationwide that I was fortunate(and selected to  to be in charge of)  to lead in training(boys and adults leaders) both basics and advanced training at all levels)...Lead by example, be a role model, know and use your resources, and of course live every day by the words and wisdom of the Boy Scout Oath and Law...one can never go wrong with this as your guide to everyday life...I have to remember it as days go along and refrain  from criticizing  others for their way of life or their political and personal felling  and gripes...it does relive me of many troubling comments...
