CRAIG, YOU ARE AN ASSHOLE WHO NOBODY WITH THE EXCEPTION OF A COUPLE OF PEOPLE WANT TO HEAR. YOU HAVE RUN PEOPLE OFF OF THIS SITE WHO WE LIKED TO COMUNICATE WITH,YOU HAVE THE TYPICAL LAWER OUTLOOK THAT YOU ARE GOD.  THE REST UF US ARE POOR COMMON PEOPLE WHO IN YOUR EYES WILL ALLWAYS BE BENEATH YOU.  WHY CANT YOU JUST ACCEPT THE FACT WE DONT WANT TO HEAR YOU OR CARE WHAT YOU THINK?

Sorry to the rest of you for my rant.

Tom Stewart, ain't it great?!!  "ex hippy druggy flips and finds Jesus"!   I've known so many who've made the change, all for the good of all.  Not saying you ever were all that, but weren't most of us something in the past that we'd change if we had it all to do over again? I know I'd change some things that I did. We'll keep praying for Craig; miracles are real and happen over and over again.  I've been fortunate to witness and be part of so many.  Maybe Craig can come over and preach to your folks some day... I know it's getting late, but, who knows?  Stranger things have happened!

Very well said Monte!  It appears Craig never outgrew obnoxious, and/or he has a mental disability that prevents him from realizing that most people don't want to read his mindless drivel.

From what I understand this is The Woodland High School message forum, not the Craig Mayfield forum.

I have never been one the mince words or keep my mouth shut. Craig you're a bully and an ass. Everyone is pretty much over you and your opinions. That's all

Craig, you are actually correct, I was a drug and alchohol using hippie when I became a Christian.  I was a college student living in Arcata, California.  It was the time of the Jesus People revival that lasted from 1968 to about 1978.  I completed a degree in Humanities in state college then went on to complete a degree at a Bible College in Christian education and counseling.  My first experience in ministry was as a youth leader, and I still work with youth today.  I wasn't interested in Christianity at that time and it would have been my last choice as a religion, but I had an encounter with Jesus and the Holy Spirit at that time.  I wasn't a strung out, desperate person at the time, but rather a good time, partying, happy college student with lots of friends and at a great point in my life.  I didn't convert as a last chance effort or out of desperation, but because I met Jesus.  Can't explain it, but that relationship is still strong today, after 40+ years.

You have a lot questions concerning God, eternity, afterlife...etc.  Some of us no longer have those questions.  There is a VAST difference between Christianity and other world religions.  If one is to break down each one, one at a time, you soon realize the origin and difference.  Just because you have not found truth does not mean it doesn't exist.

I hope you find some answers some day, but I am not convinced you are all that interested.  You seem to have found a diversion that is satisfying to you.  In reality the majority of people serve a god who is actually a "selfie".  Each person creates their own god based on personal beliefs, philosophies and preferences.  That god looks a lot like the individual.

Thank you, Tom Stewart, for your generosity in sharing your story! I was being nudged last night to respond to our “petulant child”, but knew we were being baited. It reminded me of sending a child to his or her room to think about what they had done, and suddenly there’s a hundred urgent things they have to tell you. But this morning I see Craig for what he is, a beloved child of God. And there’s nothing he can do about it! Craig, you are a blank slate with incredible promise and your questions can be answered if you seek in the right place, which isn’t this forum. I will tell you that there is a truth so real and beautiful (powerful, too!) that can fill your heart to the brim. I hope you develop a strong taste for that which is beyond our full understanding. I cannot imagine living in this troubled world without hope in something greater.

I have a question for all the Bible thumpers, does the Golden Rule apply to masochists?

Craig Mayfield keep stirring the pot, I enjoy reading posts of a free thinker.

10/07/17 11:10 AM #4037

Monte McCray (1966)

Ernie. A free thinker is great but people should have some respect for other peoples thoughts and beliefs.

10/07/17 11:12 AM #4038

Tom Stewart (1969)

 I

Ernie, so that is how you see it? I’m not a Bible thumper as you call it.  Is being a free  thinker a substitute for manners and civility? I have debated people for years, but I attempt to do it with mutual respect. Why do  Craig and you  seem to have little regard for Christians? My experience tells me you would be far less likely to demean us if we were another religion.

I do not know  Craig Mayfield but I do follow the postings.  I found that if I did not like what I was hearing on the radio, I just changed the station.   Tony DeMaria

Tony. Do you ghange the station simply because there is one or two songs you don,t like?

We have lost quite a few classmates from this site that most of us enjoyed hearing from. I don't care what craigs or any other persons views are but just because mine or someone else's views or beliefs aren't the same as someone else's why do we have to be subjected to liberal left wing criticisim every time we post on this site?I have my beliefs and you have yours, Thats why the U S A use to be such a great country because weare suppose to be able th believe and do what we want as long as it dosen't infringe on other peoples belifes or rights. When I read some of Craigs posts it reminds me of my five year old niece having a temper tantrum.

Okay, folks, I guess I need to say I wish I hadn't stirred up such a hornets' nest by agreeing with/complimenting his post from the NZ newspaper. My use of the word "prescient" was an accurate description of his article: my dictionary says that means "an informed guess regarding future events." (CHECK OUT wikipedia; they even have a religious/prophecy definition). I think the weather events we've experienced over the last ten+ years bear out the prediction; 50(!) years ago at WHS, it seemed like we had 'NORMAL' weather: Fall and some hot weather, then rain, fog, cold, then the warming in Spring before the hot summer. Well, it sure ain't that way anymore, especially  the last two summers. My point is, even agreeing with him sets him off; I've known Craig since we were in Mr. Haas' World History class when he tried to get me to give him test answers, and Haas busted him, after terrifying me, quiet little country girl that I was, about cheating on tests. These things stand out in my mind, and temper my involvement all these years later. We can't take back the words we've said or written, but we can MOVE ON.

I believe the GOLDEN RULE was mentioned in some of the last posts?  Many ofus seem to have forgotten what it says!  Let's be kind!  Okay Wolves!

This is the first time I've responded to the responses, but the lack of civil discourse and, for the most part, inability to accept differences among classmates (former).  I graduated in '62 which means my college experience was different from those of you who graduated several years after that.  One of the most humbling experience I've had was spending a year in Alabama & Mississippi doing voter registration during the Civil rights movement.  During that time if you disagreed with a person from the white person, you would NEVER opine a thought.  All that is to say, because someone has a different perspective, than you doesn't mean they are wrong, just different.  We can always LEARN from other's experience and they can learn from you.  Currently, the politiacl environment in this country is frightening for those of us who have a different life experience and work very hard to make changes so cetain demographics are repeatedly cited as less than the power elite.  I would gues that I'll be disinvited now, so I will join Craig who has different perspectives and thoughts than the rest of the posters....I'll be in good company.

Tom Stewart (1969)

Craig,

I really hope your last comment was somewhat tongue in cheek since I would assume everyone on this blog knows I was not saying we people physically look like their god, but that their understanding and philosophy  concering God is born out of their opinions, intellect, and perception, which in the end resembles them.  This CAN be done even in the confines of an established religion like Christianity.  God/Jesus/Holy Spirit are redefined to meet the culture and opinions of the person, so even the God of the Bible begins to resemble the individual.  We see this especially in liberal theology which essentially redefines ALL Scripture to accommodate modern culture and beliefs.

Ok Classmates, I’ve had it! The next person to belittle another with name calling or insults, I'm challenging to a wrestling match at the next WHS reunion. We could meet the next day after the reunion in the high school gym on the wrestling mat and charge admission. The money raised could be donated to charity. We could get our frustrations out of our system while having fun at the same time, and it all goes to charity. Win win win!...DEAL???

P.S. Wouldn’t that be a sight!...A couple of old men grunting & groaning, huffing & puffing, rolling around on the floor. We can park our walkers next to the mat and we’ll probably need our grandkids there to help us get back up onto our feet. Who knows...all of Woodland may turn out to witness this epic event. We might even be on the news! 🤼‍♂️

GO WOLVES!
