Jim Rumsey, thank you for the good picture of the four in-shape  veterans in front of the Woodland Court House, as I know the main building has moved off of Main Street.  Appreciate the honor of all service people.

We, Class of 62, lost our Senior Class President, Paul Giusti earlier this week.  I was in kindergarten with Paul at Dingle in 1949.  RIP my friend.

I was so sorry to hear about Paul's passing. His sister Gail & I graduated together & I knew his wife when she was working at Gibson school where I volunteered. His wife Sue passed away many years ago. My heart goes out to the family & praying for them.

Very sad to learn that Paul Giusti passed away recently.

Knew Paul from our Woodland Little League days when he played on the "DetroitTigers" and I was on the "Chicago WhiteSox".  Last spoke with Paul when getting a haircut at his shop and he talked about the American Rookie of the Year who played for the real Boston Red Sox, Pedroia, who came from Woodland.

Paul had coached him in youth baseball. When Paul and his family visited Boston, Pedroia gave them the works, including a personal tour of the locker room.  It was great to hear Paul's enthusiasm.

Rest in the Dreamland of the Great Ballpark in the Sky, Paul.

Best Wishes!

Don Gray,

Fairbanks, Alaska

In memory of Paul Giusti, so sad to hear of his passing.  His wife Sue, passed in 2016, not too long ago.   Paul and Sue were a total couple all through high school, and both very good looking.  They will rest together.  My condolences to both families on this loss.  Blessings to both Paul and to Sue.

It saddened me to see my old friend Paul Guisti had passed.  My favorite memory of Paul was when Jimmy Ehrke and myself would go over to Paul's house once a week to play Yahtzee for a dollar a game.  Anyone that knew Paul knew that he loved a bet or a game of chance.  Paul was a one of a kind.  RIP my friend.

The last time I saw Paul, (2005) I had dropped off some Fantasy Football stats at his shop. As I was leaving, he said, " Thanks Rock. " I chuckled to myself....... RIP Paul.

Per his obituary posted 'In Memory', Bill 'Wil' Staffelbach passed away on 9-24-19. Bill was always willing try something new which resulted in his living in many parts of northern California including San Jose, Auberry,  French Camp, Yreka and Kelseyville. I'm sure his classmates will remember him as a nice guy.  He never changed. He was a good friend

56 years ago tonight, I sat on the wing of a jet aircraft that was on display (Next to the National Guard Armory) just around the corner from where I lived. It was a very foggy night in Woodland, I was a junior in high school. As I sat there, I pondered that day's events. The feeling of sadness, disbelief and emptiness has never been forgotten.

I was working part time at the Old JC Penneys across from where the nugget is now & I was at work & someone must have heard the news about the President being shot & it spread like wildfire across the store & all our customers left. The manager let must of the employees leave & when I got home my aunt was at our house & her & my mom were crying

A day never forgotten about our President Kennedy with such high hopes for our country!  A very sad and terrible event for our United States of America.  He was our light to shine.   I was in Mr. Gordon's art class when we all heard the news.  Went home and stayed by the television, it seemed that the whole day stopped.  We were in shock.  Bless him and his family.

I was a senior and I was in Business Machines class right before lunch.  The announcement came over the PA system and we were all stunned and some were crying.  Am I remembering correctly that they closed school and sent us all home?

Gail:  You are right.  The great Woodland High School, on College Street, they sent us home.  It was as if the world had stopped.  I still have the original Life magazines.  Just so terrible.  A great, intelligent man to lead us, and then taken.

I remember I was in gym class,, out on the football field, we were all sent home for the rest of the day. We all gathered around the TV for it seemed like it last for weeks watching the samething over and over.

I was a Freshman at Antelope Valley High School. I have never experienced such  a silence. It was deafening. People were walking with no direction with tears streaming down expressionless faces. It was eerie and sadness was palpable.
