Thank you everyone for your condolences.

Craig. I knew you because i worked on the Orange Peal and interacted with a lot of people. I think my sister, Maedell, class of 1966, was one of your friends.

Oh Burke!  I'm so sorry!  I went to Holy Rosary with Andrea and her sister, then WHS.  Andrea was one of the sweetest girls!!  Such a loss!  May God bring you comfort in all the memories you have!!  God bless! 😢 (I hope this is my profile, not Scott's)  - Mary Wanda

The Woodland High School Class Retunion for 1961-62 was great.  Thanks to all  the organizing team with Bill Torngren and others.  The Food Truck provided wonderful Mexican food we all enjoyed.  So great to see so many friends, those years have passed too quickly.  The time was wonderful, starting at 12:30 so a drive back to Woodland was easy.  In Appreciation, Theresa Eve, Class of 1964.

Kudos to the organizers for the 61-62 class reunion! It was a wonderful afternoon filled with good memories and visiting with many old friends. Those of us from the Class of '61 had a great time and thank you so much for inculding us in the get-together. If you missed the party, you missed one of the best yet. '62 Rocks!

About 3 weeks ago, I blacked out in my garage and suffered a severe concussion. I'm lucky I didn't die before Andrea. Still dealing with the after affects, dizziness and memory loss. Can't drive until my doctor clears me.

Maedell survived both the '89 earthquake and the '91 Oakland Hills fire. They stopped the fire in her neighborhood about 2 blocks from her house. Unfortunately, my younger sister, MaeJean (Class of 1968) lost her house in the same fire.

Thank you to all who attended our Classes of '61 and '62 reunion.  We had a great time catching up and hearing from folks we had not seen for years.  Here is the YouTube link to the video that ran continuously at the reunion.  It is set to some of the music that was the soundtrack for Our Six-0! Reunion.  Enjoy it at your leisure or in bites as you choose.

Hey Johnny James.  I thoroughly enjoyed our conversation at our 60th class reunion last Saturday. Especially when we discussed the cars we had back in those days.  I recall you asking about my favorite car, the '57 Ford.  I said it was still in great shape, but I was wrong.  That pesky squeak in the dash of my '57 Ford has returned.  Any suggestions?

Class of 1965--is there a reunion planned anytime soon? Even as. combination with other classes, it would be great to attend.

Holy crap Don!!!! that squeek is getting really bad. I can hear the mindless drivel emenating from under your dashboard clear over at my house. You might want to try some cockroach bait, instead of WD40, to get it under control.

Now, now Don and Bernie. To some people that squeek is a symphony. It's all a matter of perspective. Here, I'll telepathically transmit to you some of these delicious mushroo...ooms...oom...om...OM MANI PADME HUM...

The 1961/1962 WHS Reunion was also greeted with the beautiful Majorettes as we remember them:  Marion Flores and Lynell Eilola raised our spirits once again with their presents.  Loved seeing you both.

Hey Don,

Me thinks your 57 Ford problemo is minor.   Dash squeaks are like trains  for people who live by the train tracks.   After a while they become insignificant.

Class Reunion of 1961-1962 still remains in my mind as a great time for all.  Don Murdock, that Food Truck was the best.  I should have gotten some tacos to go.  I got home and wanted more tacos!!!   Here are a few beauties from the Class of 1962.  Kay Gunter - representing Woodland American Legion Post 77, where we had the reunion.  Also, Thank you Greg for the Butterfly picture for Fall.

Theresa, thanx for the kudos on the food at the reunion.  Ladies from Class of 62 dominated the Sugar Queen contest 2 years in a row. The previous year, the Queen was Frankie Mathis from Davis. But the 2 runners-up were again blondes from our class, Nita Keehn and Barbara Joseph. Nita and Barbara are still slim and trim and as cute as ever.  Blondes from the Class of 62 rock.

I have had several requests for information regarding Andrea's funeral. Service will be held on Monday, 09/12/2022 at 10:00am at Davis Christian Assembly, 3030 Sycamore Lane, Davis. Following the service, burial will take place at Woodland Cemetery, 800 West Street, Woodland. After the burial, a celebration of life meal will be held at the Chicago Cafe, 411 Main Street, Woodland.

In lieu of flowers, we are asking that monetary donations be made in memory of Andrea to our home church, Davis Christian Assembly, P. O. Box 315, Davis, CA 95617.

You are right Don, a lot of beauties in your 1962 Woodland High School Class!!  I have the original 1962 and 1963 Sugar Queen Coronation bulletin.  Franicie Mathis was 1961 Sugar Queen.  A lot of Fair Activities.

Tom Stewart (1969)

I seldom post in this forum any more.  I pop in to read some of the comments from time to time though.  I have created and administrated several groups, some with thousands of members, so I know the problems and issues.  As things evolve in a forum the original intent and purpose is lost or greatly diminished.

This decade high school forum seems to have devolved to primarily a one man show with bit actors popping in from time to time.  Maybe I am wrong, but that is an observer's perspective.  Due to attitudes of superiority, and ego I don't want to get involved, and it seems VERY few from my years in high school are involved.  My "roots" are in Woodland so I like to hear things from time to time.

Tom Stewart,

As someone who stays current with this site almost daily I can assure you that the wonderful memories of Woodland, Yolo County, and WHS that are shared here FAR outweigh the occasional deviation. I recommend scrolling back through the weeks and months and/or signing up for notifications and give it another chance.

In any event, as Ringo likes to say, "Peace and Love."

Right you are Tom! It is getting very tedious. And I don't see much peace and love in those squeeky postinings.
