Their sacrifices make it fitting we honor our veterans who gave us a precious gift of their time, duty, fathfulness and some, their very life.

The U.S. military is second to none. Over the last two and a half centuries, it has earned that designation by accomplishing some impressive feats, beginning with the nation's own dramatically outnumbered and outgunned struggle for independence from Great Britain.
Yes, there have been setbacks along the way and even some worng choices and mistakes common to any human endeavor, but most of those were the result of poor political decisions made by civilians rather than any poor performance by soldiers on the battlefield.
By and large, the American military is a stalwart defender of freedom, not just in this country but throughout the world. Our American service men and women have made it a dear and precious gift to the world suffering under tyranny and often genocidal abuse.
Our armed forces are all too often only considered as a collective unit, but that unit only exists because of the hard work and dedication of those people who serve in it.
Choosing to serve in the nation's military, In almost every case, involves sacrifices both big and small not only by the one serving but from his or her family as well. We would not be the nation we are today without those people and those sacrifices . . . fathers, mothers, sons, daughters, hubsands, wives, brothers, sisters, children and friends.
Christmas is an important date throughout much of the world, not just by Christians who wish "Merry Christmas" but untold numbers who say "Happy Holidays" to express love of family and friends in giving gifts and sharing food and help.
I want to make this Christmas a fitting day and a fitting tribute of thanks to every vetran but especially those who were in school with us, and more so to those who are no longer with us.
If you have served in the U.S. military, thank you for your service. The U.S. military is not really an "it" but rather a "who," . . . you.

My following post is a current list of known men and women within our 10 years of graduating Woodland High School senior classes. Please select one or two to remember at your evening meal and/or when opening your gifts. Offer a short prayer silent or vocal of thankfulness and a blessing upon them of love, acceptance or forgiveness, that God not let them be lacking in any good thing.
Thank you, and God bless each and every one. - Merry Christmas, Robert
