Theresa Eve (1964)

Robert Cowing, thank you for your time in posting all the notices of people we have known in Woodland.  As time passes, we see more and more of our friends leaving this earth.  The notices make us see some of the connections of these families and friends we may not have realized.  It is clear that Phil has had a lot of good friends by all the comments made in his honor, which is lovely.  It just brought me back to those 1960s and I did not know Phil personally, but remember his face and his car interest.  The comments made his life become more real to me as I read.  Yes, and those WWII vets, and all the vets; we do appreciate reading their history.  It is a good memory for us to recapture these lives, successes and talents.

It is with great sadness that the class of 65 lost another member of their class:  Steve Waldeck.  I didn't want to post this too soon but it is posted on FB so I thought I would be OK.  If any of the family reads this and I have overstepped my boundries, I do apologize.  And to the family, my deepest symypathy.  Steve was like a brother to me.  Always looking out for me and my business when we worked across the parking lost from each other.  You will be missed my dear friend.

So sorry to hear about Steve Waldeck-Bill plumb was keeping me updated on Steve. We played a lot of basketball together under Coach Pinkston-I believe we had the first winning record for WHS basketball in many years our senoir year.  Steve was a true gentleman and good guy-he will be missed.

RIP my friend

Dolores Cabias (Buck) (1965)

Post #2593 "Is that Ron Amundson"?  Yes, Bob you were correct.  That is Ron with Wilma Morales Amundson some time after 1968 when Wilma returned to CA from the PI.  Ron and Wilma first met when Wilma attended Laugenour Elementary School, I believe, or after she went to Harriet Lee.  Wilma still lives in Woodland and I happened to reconnect with her after many, many years.  She looks just a gorgeous now as then, it is amazing and she is just as I remembered her from Laugenour.

Thanks Vern for the BD wishes, it was a great one, just happy to still be having them ;).  Robert, we are just two of many people, Vets, lots of Boy Scouts and their leaders and many people from Woodland and surounding communities that think it's important honor our men and women that fought for us. It was a passion of my father's and both my brother (Bill) and I grew up putting the flags on the graves every Memorial Day. When I returned from Hawaii 35 years ago it was just part of our lives. One day out of the year, small expense for the great people that gave (some all) for us.
