Suzette Sides Washington

I have been living in Monterey County since I graduated from Chico State. I have taught elementary school and also became a Forensic counselor working with the courts and was then hired to teach at Monterey County Jail; asked to start a classroom at Monterey Parole Office; and later was asked to teach at the Correctional Training Facility State Prison in Soledad CA where I have just retired. My major at Chico was art, music and drama so have been doing art shows about interesting unstudied topics and was actually accepted to Harvard School of Business with my art work. I did not go yet due to having children here in California and Harvard is in Boston. I also wrote poetry books and movies about the topics of the art shows.

Favorite school story? I wrote a poetry book about an art show I did about "men." I interviewed men from all over Monterey County. I made the paintings and then had a showing and a time to talk about it with the men guests. I then wrote a poetry book about an interesting man who lives here named Clint Eastwood and dedicated the book to him and actually met with him and gave him a copy. He liked it so much that he wrote a song about me and put it on the radio and juke box big time and one day I heard it while I was working in a bar and it said my name at the end of the song with French music for "Suzette" and talked about a woman with my personality. It was way cool to have that song done. Wow!
