The website was continued after the 2013 reunion for the enjoyment of the members.  They shouldn't be subjected to annoying posts when they come to the Message Forum.  Forums work when people participate - so don't be bashful.  But be respectful.  This may seem like a private chat room, but 800 of your classmates have access to it (along with ~two dozen of our former teachers), and many more classmates read than participate.

The administrators reserve the right to refuse service to anyone.  Access and participation on this forum is not a right, it is a privilege and abuse may result in suspension or revocation of WHS60s site access at any time.

Abuse includes but is not limited to personal attacks, offensive, demeaning, excessive or nonsensical posts, badgering, foul language, etc.  It is not a place to disparage others, especially deceased classmates.  Posting involving politics or religion are prohibited as they typically and quickly become offensive/demeaning.

We don't actively monitor the forum, but respond to complaints and take action as deemed appropriate.

Steve, It is great to see that Lois is doing OK. I'll pass that information on to Jean, Alan, and Ruth.

Although we are all getting up in age, we have good memories of growing up on the farm. Our families lived close to each other, and we went through high school and grammar school together. Because both of our families went graduated from college, that proves that family emphasis on education and knowledge helped our decision making. I read the philosopher Cicero said that although our physical abilities are not as strong as we age, our mental maturity more than offsets. Please wish Lois well from me.

Anyone have pictures to be considered for the reunion Memory Book?  Anything from the River Rats on Sting Rays (know that is a best kept secret).  Other gatherings.  Please send to gwegener4098@gmail.com and we will have a group review and select...

Carol Dunton (Stone) (1968)

Since this was mentioned, I’d like to add that I thought the photo guy and his helper were a little short with people almost to the point of being rude.

Gary Wegener (1966)

He may have been suffering from lack of attention on my part; we probably should have had a main point of contact for him that could/would stay available during the evening.  By default, that was me, and I figured they did fine five years ago and should be able to handle it fine this time.  Not sure what their issues/concerns were that contributed to the grumpiness, but next time (?) we should have someone identified to work closely with them.  When John was blowing his whistle to get attention at the class pictures... I thought it was all part of an act.  I do have to work with him on the formating of the Memory book and will find out more then.

On the upside, I think their pictures came out great.

We need to come up with what we want for the front cover.   Anyone have something they want considered, send it to me gwegener4098@gmail.com

Ron and Carol. My wife also had an unpleasant encounter with one of the assistants their rudeness didn’t spoil a fun evening though. Keep up the good work.

Vern Larson (1960)

I am sorry for the unpleasant feelings some of our classmates may have experienced and would like to offer my interpretation of some of the possible causes of stress on the part of the photographer. To try and control over 700 classmates that had not seen each other in years is beyond my comprehension. And to get them in individual classes, in a small area, in a short amount of time, with smiles on their faces, is unbelievable! I certainly contributed to his stress. I was late, didn't know where to go, and what to do first. My thanks go out to Judy Constance Aubuchon, "62" for directing me and pointing me in the right direction. I took off running for the staging area and made it just in time for the flash to go off. After the photos were taken, here comes Judy again with the wrist bands for me and my guests. Thank you Judy for your kindness, I owe you! And I also owe my thanks and appreciation to all those who unselfishly donated their time and talents to making this "All 60's Reunion" a success! We all love you! God be with us till we meet again.

GO WOLVES!!

Norma Berrettoni (Plocher) (1966)

A member in my class also had a problem with photographer and the fact this person did not have a yellow photo card.  When I was made aware of the push back to not take this person's photo I went over and talked to the photographer, secured another form and took to my class member.  Vern is right --- lots of people to photograph - not only the group photos but the individual photos.

Greg Kareofelas (1962)

Not to justify rude behavior, but the photographer and assistants had to contend with the wind blowing over their light set up. It was a dicey situation :-)

Hope all that got sick are well and I look forward to doing another reunion again, THANKS TO ALL THAT MADE THIS LAST ONE HAPPEN

Charlotte Apodaca (Lucero) (1961)

Okay, you may be getting two comments from me.  I am not terribly proficient at this.

Regarding the photographer and his assistant - let’s try and have a sense of humor about their role.  They did their best with a bunch of rowdy 60 through 70 year old former high schoolers drinking and not listening to directions. We wanted to talk and have fun, they were trying to capture at least a good photo before night fall.

We are all grown-ups, but that night for just a few hours, we were defiant teenagers; and the photographer was the parent in the room.  I too had my snippy comments about how we were being herded; but I had to laugh as the poor assistant looked baffled as she kept trying to get our attention. It was a great event - and the planners did an outstanding job.  THANK YOU 🙏

I have known John Swentowsky for several years.  The descriptions of his actions does not sound like him.  Maybe it was the large crowd and his inabiluity to control it.  His assistant is his daughter, Kara.  She can be rude at times.  There were a couple of complaints about her at our 50th reunion.

Gary Wegener (1966)

I think you nailed it Charlotte.  And again, I think we should have had added someone to the committee to work closely with them during the evening and to help with the herding (sounds like an ASB Pres or VP job to me).
