For Glacier please don't forget "Going to the Sun" road and the signs that said "Watch for Falling Rock" the famous lost indian.

The Woodland Train station also had a horse drawn trolly down Second street from Beamer Street to the train station. There is a trolly in the Heidrick Museum.

Thanks Joel for such great pics of Glacier travel. My bus they took the top off which gave us sun that was great. Fresh air, sunshine, and beautiful landscapes.

Thanks Bill for the chuckle of your humor. You are always greatly appreciated with making people smile.
Hope you will make the WHS60s Reunion, Sept. 9th, 2023.

Greg and Joel:  Thank you so much for the pictures shared.  I remember that Train Station right on the corner and I was very young.  We lived on Second Street when I was 2 years old and Dad taught at Beamer School. Dad would walk to School.   I remember the Street Cars coming down Second Street.  Dad had a big vegetable garden in the backyard.  Those were easy days.  I do remember years so far back.

Trolly from the Heidrick Museum as Bill Means mentioned.  (Nice place for a WHS Reunion at some time.)

I guess we are back to the old and comfortable in Woodland.  Sorry this type of facility was not selected for the current 1960s Reunion.  Feel the comfort of a building with level flooring and air like the Elks would be grand; but was not selected.  However I am sure the group of classmates will move around Woodland seeing framilier sights.

Theresa, my husband and I have chaired several events at the Elks. It can only accommodate 150-200 people. We're hoping to have 500+ for the reunion!

I know Pam, just thinking of comfort for the elder people in a Woodland facility - example like the Elks.  Maybe one of the fair ground buildings  like the Home Economics Building can be utilized along with the grounds for accommodations.  Thank you Pam.

The class of 1964 has lost another great wolf. Michael Gale Bailey died May 1st, 2023 of a massive heart attack in Sonoma County. Funeral plans are pending. He was one of the good ones. May God hold the family in His arms and give them the comfort the need.

          Footprints in the sand poem.

One night a man had a dream. He dreamed he was walking along beach with the Lord. Across the sky flashed scenes from his life. For each scene he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand: one belongings to him, and the other to the Lord. When the last scene of his life flashed before him, he looked back at the footprints in the sand. He noticed that many times along the path of his life there was only one set of footprints. He also noticed that it happened at the very saddest times in his life. This really bothered him and he questioned the Lord about it. "Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you, you'd walk with me all the way. But I hav noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life there is only one set fo footprints . I don't understand why when I need you the most you would leave me."  The Lord replied:  "My son, my precious child, I love you and I would never leave you. During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you,". R.I.P. Mike

Hi Jim, the Decade Reunion team met last night and we welcome you to post your pictures on the chain link fence where we will be hanging the memorial boards. I suggest you make them hangable with zip ties, so they don't fly off if a wind comes up. Look forward to seeing you in Sept. Judy

Thank you Theresa,  Barbara was born in New York.  She was in Laos with her Husband who worked for the CIA when I was in Vietnam.  She finally moved to California and we met thru a Friend, A Valley Physic whose name was Nancy Bradlely.  We realized that we were Soul Mates from the Start.  We met Late in Life, but we have had a Wonderful Life for the past ten years.     Jim Class of 63.

A "can you remember" question :-) Does anyone remember the name of that great restaurant that was in Yolo? I think the building is still there, but it is now a Mexican restaurant. I'm taklking about the place that was there before

thanks

Elvis Kelley (1962)

Greg, the restaurant in Yolo was Gormans for many years. They had fine food. I went through Yolo a couple of days ago and it looks like the place is shut down completely. It had a cyclone fence and it. Time marches on.

Greg & Elvis are correct.  Gorman's was excellent and just living three miles from there my family ate there often.  In 2010 I enjoyed lunch there with Carol Gorman Davis.  (No relation)  I believe the place had been closed and opened several times under various owners and was then a Mexican resturant.

Will not be attending the reunion in Sept. as we have had plans for many months to travel to Europe.  Will be visiting Norway, Iceland and Scotland as well as Amsterdam.  Trying to squeek in as much travel as possible while we can.  Enjoy.  Jo Ann

Joann,

Jim Gorman, the resturantaur, was Carol's uncle, her fatherBernie's brother. Hope all is good with you and Dan.  Carol has a new yearling you have to ask her about.  JD

Thanks JoAnn and Elvis. Trying to remember, I came up with "G" :-) Just could not remember GORMAN"S! Yep, one of those great ol' places with many good memories! Anytime one of my Aunts and Uncles would visit Mom and Dad, they would tell me to meet in Yolo at "Gorman's" for a dinner. Fun times and fun memories!!

Oh yes, Gorman's Restaurant nice to remember.  Our family ate there a few times while living in Yolo in the 50s.  JoAnn I will miss not seeing you at the Reunion.  My plans are not set as yet.  Carol Gorman has a new horse, or is it a Mule.  John extend my best to Carol.  Post a picture of the yearling.   Happy Mother's Day to all.

Hello from Georgia.  I hope y'all have a safe and wonderful Mother's Day.

Gormans.  I stand corrected on the Gorman question.  John Davis, who is married to Carol Gorman, informs me that Carol's uncle owned the restaurant.  Didn't know that.
