Craig, Susan had just started driving. I think we were in our junior year/she was the year behind us.

When we were kids in school we went to a place called green pool in the rumsey canyon.

There was a girl killed in a car crash in the canyon.

Does anyone rember who that was?

Monte, I'm sort of a student of upper Cache Creek, as it and it's road have come close to killing me three times. The only WHS girl I remember getting killed there was the sister of Leslie Stevens, who lived near Zamora. Don't know her first name, but WAY before we were in high school, the senior class used to go on a skip day-to Green Pool or the Boy Scout cabin,  maybe Low water bridge, I have no idea. Anyhow, she drowned. That ended that Skip Day tradition.

I believe Don is speaking about the right person. She was a very popular girl just cant rember her name.

Theresa Eve (1964)

Very sad about the young girl passing in the auto accident.  Her last name was not Eve, as I was from the only Eve family name in Woodland, only girls were myself, Theresa, Mary and JoAnne Eve.  Must be another last name from Woodland or the surrounding areas.

Monte, are you thinking of Linda Ires? (not sure of the spelling on her last name). But she was killed just outside of Guinda, and I believe the car rolled on top of her.

In the back of my 1968 Ilex, Linda Eiers is memorialized.  I remember it was a car wreck, and it gives the date as April 10, 1968.  She was in the class of 1970.  Also memorialized was Greg Robinson, class of 1969.  I don't remember him or how he died.

Jeanie (hi!), Greg was a couple years behind me at Laugenour School and I'm pretty sure he also died in a car accident.

Susan and Jean - there is a Gregory Robinson buried in Woodland Cemetery who has the right year birth for being a WHS 1969 class member.        Is it the same Greg Robinson you are talking about?

                                        Robinson, Gregory A.

Greg and I grew up together. Both of our fathers worked for Heidrick Farms. He died when his car ran into a beet field at the end of Gum Ave. Reports said the throttle got stuck and he hit the beet field going about a hundred mph. He was ejected from car and it rolled over on top of him

Jean Duncan (Miller) (1968)

Robert:  Yes, correct, on both those sweet souls who died too young.  And thanks Sue (hi!) and Earl for clarification.

Why don't we talk about every Woodland HS graduate who was tragically killed.  Won't that be fun.  Come on folks, get a life.

I can hardly wait for the Halloween edition of the Woodland High School Message Forum. It ought to be a ripper. So, after 33 years of living and working in the greater Seattle area, we moved earlier this summer to beautiful Spokane Valley about 5 miles from the Idaho border. Ahhh, warm summer nights, hot summer days, very tolerable low humidity, some historic old neighborhoods, a strong history of agriculture, lots of surrounding farms, and nearby picturesque foothills. Sound familiar?

Robert Cowing (1965)

Craig - are you trying to pretty-up that Werewolf with sweet smelling and "got-a-life" garden flowers? . . .. Craig, what's the difference between a dive-bomber pilot and a submarine captain?

Robert Cowing (1965)

Joel in Spokane   -   Have you been to Wenatchee ? When we moved to Portland in the 1980's Wenatchee had this fantastic drama-music production company run by a very large church, doing all sorts of creations, even . . . not totally sure about this . . . producing operas in English with the goal of making them available to anyone.  Was a great success.   . . . . And then there are the apples !   . . . And of course in Spokane you are not very far from Idaho which has some great golf courses and flocks of Red-Necks sneaking and runing about in the woods and moutains.

Yes, Robert, that's him. Was a real nice guy.

Craig,  I think that dog is Australian . . . if so, that Gerrman you speak of is lost in (CENSORED) llilacs.

Hey Dan, Donald, Monte, Joseph, Jean, Susan and Earl - A couple of things:

(1)  Don Murdock and Gary Wegener are mistaken about your comments about Greg and Linda. they have a right to feel and express their feelings. Nothing morbid or ugly about remembering our alumni, at leaast in how you have conducted yourselves. I am sorry that your remembering Linda and Greg has made Gary and others sad. Don't be discouraged from grieving or remembering. It will help you have a more full and less painful life.

(2)  Gary Wegener is the Master of the web site and has THE SAY on content and tone of the web site. So . . . . lets be happy!  . . .  When I start to feel morose or glum, I will let you guys know . . . keep on "trucking" or  . . . "flying" Sully.

(3) Dan, thanks for your comment about Shirley Post. I returned from college my second year and drove by were Shirley lived, across the street from my grandmother.  Mr. Post was in the yard gardening so I stopped and asked about Shirley.  All he said was that she died in an accident, turned his back and went back to his gardening. I left with a lump in my stomach.  . . . . I lilked Shirely, always friendly with a smile for me whenever I said "hi." I was never ever able to find out what happened to Shirley, . . .  thanks for speaking up and filling a small hole in my heart for someone who deserved better from life than she received.

(4) and finally, those who were talking about Linda Marie Eiers . . . on her grave stone and via Ancestery.com a "Bud" or "Buddy Eiers" is listed/engraved . . . he is the brother of Linda, born September 26,1949 and died September 28, 1949. On the Find-A-Grave web site Buddy is listed as "spouse", obviously wrong. . . .  Linda was only 17 when she died . . . Does anyone know if Linda was ever married?

Thanks - Robert
