Can't fool you history buffs Dan. Ron I believe that was his name. (RIP). I know he hung around with the group. Timemaker dances were fun times. I remember Tom and Andys band playing in Chico during their Puoneer Days. Jim whitehead was also in the band. Personally I liked the Dynamics the best. Oh. Don't forget the Partisians. David Earl Parrish, Ron Black, Keith Ming. I can't remember the others.

mCraig. Those old brain cells are still cooking. Yeah I played a Vox (to remember brand names Dan) for the Dynamics at all of those events. I also vaguely remember playing one or two Chico gigs with Andy And Toms band. The atmosphere was a little hazy with alcoholic beverages swirling around a thing called a keg ( I was too naive to realize teenagers were drinking since I had spent the majority of time studying at the library--sounds good anyway). Ron you know some of what we enjoyed while playing. Robert thanks for the photo of the Partisians. You might have to catch up with Wally for some pix of the Dynamics. Good times but my young age kept me out of the Dick and Dee Dee era. You guys must be a lot older than me.

What band played at our 1965 "Senior Skip Day" at the Muni Pool?  I just remember John Isgreen belting out, Johnny be Good".  Blew me away as I didn't even know he sang.

Eugene....I do remember the VOX...it was a great brand....Paul Revere and the Raiders used Vox equipment...Remember seeing them at Governors Hall at the Old Sacramento State Fair Grounds...$1.50 to get in...and the Brits used the Vox.........I still prefer Fender....Leo Fender had the right Idea......they still make the original equipment out of Corona, Ca....same build and pick ups........better than the Fender stuff made in Mexico or Indonesa.....sound not there.......far as we are older .....Nah...we just graduated a few years ahead of you.......some of use kept the Music inside ..it all about the classic songs...equipment.......It like 1940..1950....1960 cars..they are still here and made out of metal and built with pride...No recalls....same with band equipment....to each there own...I appreciate every one liking...if they are happy well every one is happy..if not buy a better brand..enjoy............Remember the Song Louie Louie......sing it Craig........

Craig.....I didn't know you had "pipes"....lol

Gene!  What fond memories of the dances at the Armory and the Boon Docks, etc.  I loved to dance back then and still now!  There seemed to be some rivalry between Davis and Woodland bands competing in the Battle of the Bands.  Those were great times!

Robert, thanks for posting the pix of The Partesians....loved those guys (Class of '68).  I'm still looking for another pix of them.  But found this one of The Dynamics....this one's for you Gene!  :)

Can we see a few  memory photos of families that we recall in the 50s or so. I have one that is a total capture of those days at Woodland High School and just growning up.  It is a classic.  Let's see some more classics. This is one of the Eve and Fessel .

Dan Ree (Ree) (1964)

Robert:   Do Want the full Lyrics...I have them from my music Tel Prompter?????   Louie...Louie may have been censored  then....but compared to today lyrics of many sing individuals like Miley Cryus and others........it like comparing a kid on roller skates to a Fat Guy in a ' SPEEDO '   LOL

Sherie, thanks for the photo. If I remember correctly that pic was taken at one of the sidewalk days stores. Made us wear a bright yellow shirt since that was the store's corporate colors. Dan Vox made organs as far as I remember. We all had Fender speakers. Craig, I've never seen you so humble. Are you OK?

Dan Ree (Ree) (1964)

Eugene:    No Vox came out with the Guitars and amp...I remember at old Sacramento State Fair   Vox had a display of their product around the late 60's...It was a British Products and still is..    The groups that used this products: The KInks......The Yardbirds.....Tom Petty.......to name a few........they started to produce the guitar and amp series after the Fender Twin pressure......yes the organ was their prime product...Vox is owned by a Japanese Firm " KORG'   ( organs) since 1992.......During our time of our bands...yes VOX was not that known or used  ........If I remember correctly   Sears....Silvertone Amps/Guitar were out along with a Reverb Box they came out...I think Steve used that combo........      Today I like the older Fender Amps...Just Purchased an original Fender Showman Amp with the 15 Inch speaker..all refurbished thru Ebay from a guy in New Jersey....bought a fender Reverb Box just like the original with all tubes........a Fender reproduction series......Brings back that Surf Sounds all over again...................The older amps are now collector items along with the Fender Guitars of the 60's...They go for a pretty penny........A Fender guitar back then $200-$300....now $3,000- $4,000  same with the amps.........

As some of you know, Bill Shinn, WHS Class of ’66, was crewman on a rescue helicopter when they were shot down over North Vietnam.  Originally listed as MIA, his status was changed to killed in action/body not recovered. (At last word, a DOD recovery team had located the crash site, and is examining it for remains.)

Woodlander Cal de Knikker is working on “The Shinn Project” to raise awareness of MIA’s in general, and Bill’s case in particular (for details, go to Classmate Profiles, Class of ’66, William Shinn).  They are having a fund raiser at the Elks Sept 17th, 5-11 ($30 at the door) if you would like to learn more about Bill and his slice of the history in the Vietnam War.    Hickory Hank's Bar-B-Q at 6 pm SHARP! Music by The Shinn Project's "official" Band, The Terry Sheets Band.  (Disclaimer: I have a conflict and can not attend.)

Good Monday Afternoon September 12, 2016,

Just for curiosity sake....I am  wondering how many men and women graduates of 1966 are taking their spouses to the reunion as many of us married our spouses who are not from Woodland  and do not know  our former classmates... Many times at  reunions  spouses from out of the area feel a little bored by not being able to visit with folks they do not know....Thanks for listening and responding.

I have attended a few of my wife's reunions and even though the folks there are very interesting, it is a little difficult to get involved with them as they don't know me (and are really interested in visiting with their regular class mates). My wifes classmates only know me as my wife's husband and are very polite but move onto their own conversation  with old friends(as of course they should!!!).

So far, 132 total signed up for dinner Saturday night.  123 are classmates (rest are 'workers' we are feeding).  Of the 123, 33 bought just one ticket, rest bought 2 tickets.

Dan - RE:  . . . "Louie Louie" . . . I think it was in my second year of college that there was a big deal about the lyrics.  I never paid any attention until then, just liked the music and melody.  I think the problem was that no one could actually understand the lyrics and people were spoofing the critics about what the lyrics might be i.e. pornographic or anti-whatever.

I was just trying to give Craig and Mike a bad time. Nothing more.

Jeff, as to your question about spouses attending a class reunion, I think it depends on a couple of things.  My husband and I have been attending each other's reunions since the 10th reunion so we both have met and spent time with each other's friends from high school.  I have become good friends with his girlfriend from high school (go figure) and we see them outside of reunions also.  David has become friends with my friend's husbands so they all get along and talk to each other, especially if we go off down memory lane with people from our class.  So, it is a matter of familiararity and also how well the spouse does in social situations where they don't know anyone.  My husband is very quiet and not good in unfamiliar social scenes so I have been pleasantly surprised at how much he has enjoyed my reunions.  That being said, if the spouse has not been regularly going to reunions in the past, or doesn't want to go, then it is probably best for the classmate to attend alone, enjoy catching up with all their friends and then go back to a spouse who has probably enjoyed an evening alone, watching a movie on TV and eating popcorn!  It really comes down to personality and familiararity I think.  Just my opinion...hope it helps a little.
