Another World War II veteran has left us and is in a better place.  James Newman, a life long resident of Woodland and Yolo County passed on 1-1-17.  He was an avid sportsman.  If I get more information I will post

Actually Craig I don't think to many people on this forum care to discuss trump much more.

He is going to be President so lets see what he does just like we have with all the other Presidents before him.

Home improvement projects - can send a person crazy!  Just had my kitchen cabinets painted white, now the painter is finishing up the cabinets in the bathroom.  How many of you find these projects just a little wild!  I will be so glad to get my house back in order, even thou I wanted the change, which was totally needed!  The painter is an artist, everything he does is so perfect!

Theresa, glad to hear your house is getting a fresh start. It makes you feel like you have a new home!

Reminds me of how much my mom paints their rentals. Every time a renter moved out my mom painted the apartment or house with white paint. So fresh and clean looking.

My mom painted barns, fences, and houses until she was in her early eighties. She has so much energy.

Amazing!

Theresa....yes it is refreshing to paint and get that new look to a new year...it makes a brighter home and that fresh smell...actually Iove painting around the house and stand back and see the end results/ saying I did that and it looks good...I like Red in the kitchen and some of the furniture...makes it pop.....Linda ..your mom was amazing...keeping busy at something that you like to do and staying with it makes life go and go..Busy minds are more functionable than a idle ..stale mind.....Keep Painting You All!

Educated and listening. What I heard are words coming from a 'bully stand' . Nothing of an educational value. Your words are to push for a response to argue your point. Demeaning the other's side of the issue. We Will Not Take It Any Longer. Converse with yourself.

Hmmmmm....... still talking about the election.  It only went on for two years, and now it is over.  Seems like a huge challenge for some to get on with.  We will see in the near future what the new president does, and what affect his decisions have on the nation.

What more can be said?  It does not require a great deal of intelligence or understanding to speculate on future events, or to rehash past ones.  It does require a lot of wisdom and understanding to make a positive difference in the lives of others, and none of that is going to be done at this time by discussing what may happen, what should have happened, or what already happened will change anything.  Unless our actions have some degree of impact on events and outcomes, what is the value of influencing focused on demeaning, devaluing, disparaging, and/or ridiculing.

I have kept away from this forum for quite a while now, but decided to weigh in.  In the end, the people in the country where I reside seem pretty happy about the outcome of the election.  They were elated when Obama won and expected great things, but they were sadly disappointed, as most of Europe was, but now is a time of new beginnings.  Possibly more will be employed, more able to purchase houses, more able to participate in the wealth of America, and more return to pride in the nation, rather than bowing to other nations.

I doubt that anyone on the forum knows me, I was only in Woodland for a couple of years - Junior and Senior years. No matter. Regardless of what our individual politics are, the most important thing any of us can do is be active and be part of the solution. Be in communication with our Congressional representatives, local representatives and participate in the process currently in place.

Participate - if you don't like it, let the people with the public voice know you're not going to be victimized. Our current President has given some great encouragement to those displeased with the election results - quit bitchin' and get busy. (my words, not his)

Whoever is elected president reguardless if I voted for them or not, They are my President and I will accept that as that is the American way.

If you don't like it perhaps you should move to some other Democratic country if you think there is a better one out there.

Craig. You seem to lean towards if I don't like them you can't either.

You as an attorney should understand this is not the way it is suppose to work.

Isn't some presumed innocent until they have proof that have committed a crime and not convicted on rumor gossip and inuendo?

I say to you as a blue collar everyday semi educated citizen of the United States of America Accept it shut your mouth and quit sniveling or leave the country with yhe rest of the celebrateys who contribute nothing to our society except their biased oppinion.

PS. This willl be mu last post about this particular subject

Sorry to all alumni for my rant.

Thanks Bev for your insight. I am in full agreement with you. If we disagree with something then we should either ignore it or participate in change. But there is a third course of action and that is to voice our displeasure with that "something". That being said, after listening to Donald Trump's press conference today, I am convinced we have an idiot for our next President. But he is our idiot so I will live with it.

This isn't meant to be said in a harsh tone....but this is what was given out to conservatives previously....and, in hopes that the left will support and wish the best for America now,    ....back at you....

Monte,

One of the great things about our country is that we don't have to "shut our mouths". What an odd comment to make.

And what is with the he won get over it poster? Because we disagree doesn't mean we are not "over it". Come on, we can agree to disagree. Or can we?

My condolences to Chuck Winter's family. I was 12 and several years older than Chuck but I remember when Chuck lived out by Cache Creek in the 50’s and he and I were riding our bikes up the road West of his house when a car load of guys came speeding around the corner by his house and yelled at us as they passed by and then turned around  and started coming back at us. We rode as fast as we could to get back to his house when his dad came speeding up the road in his car and stopped. He got out and confronted the guy driving. As the guy attempted to get out of his car to get Chucks dad, his dad caught him as he was half way out of the car and slammed the car door on him 3 or 4 times. The guy managed to slump back into his car and took off. It was such a good feeling for me to be so helpless and then have a Superman come to our rescue. Chucks dad was awesome! He really was like Superman. I remember Chuck’s dad as being quite, kind, and gentle, but LOOK OUT when somebody threatens his family or friends.  RIP Chuck... and tell your dad thanks for me.

Donald Trump’s Legal Team Won a ‘Russia Law Firm of The Year’ Award by Mahita Gajanan, Fortune International, http://fortune.com/2017/01/11/donald-trumps-morgan-lewis-russia-award/

6:21 AM January 12, 2017

Morgan, Lewis & Bockius, the law firm advising President-elect Donald Trump on handling his business conflicts, won the Russia Law Firm of the Year award in 2016.

The law firm announced the award in a press release last May, noting it was recognized in the Chambers & Partners' 2016 Chambers Europe guide. According to Morgan Lewis' website, (https://www.morganlewis.com/locations/moscow ), the firm's Moscow office staffs more than 40 lawyers who are well known in the Russian market and "have deep familiarity with the local legislation, practices and key players."

Trump tweeted on Wednesday morning that he had no ties to Russia and repeated the sentiment during a press conference later in the day.

"I have no deals that could happen in Russia, because we've stayed away," he said. "And I have no loans with Russia."

Morgan Lewis attorney Sheri Dillon spoke about Trump's conflicts of interest during the press conference, announcing that Trump plans to hand over leadership of his company to his two adult sons and a longtime executive.    A spokeswoman for the firm declined to comment
