My condolences to Chuck Winter's family. I was 12 and several years older than Chuck but I remember when Chuck lived out by Cache Creek in the 50’s and he and I were riding our bikes up the road West of his house when a car load of guys came speeding around the corner by his house and yelled at us as they passed by and then turned around  and started coming back at us. We rode as fast as we could to get back to his house when his dad came speeding up the road in his car and stopped. He got out and confronted the guy driving. As the guy attempted to get out of his car to get Chucks dad, his dad caught him as he was half way out of the car and slammed the car door on him 3 or 4 times. The guy managed to slump back into his car and took off. It was such a good feeling for me to be so helpless and then have a Superman come to our rescue. Chucks dad was awesome! He really was like Superman. I remember Chuck’s dad as being quite, kind, and gentle, but LOOK OUT when somebody threatens his family or friends.  RIP Chuck... and tell your dad thanks for me.

Donald Trump’s Legal Team Won a ‘Russia Law Firm of The Year’ Award by Mahita Gajanan, Fortune International, http://fortune.com/2017/01/11/donald-trumps-morgan-lewis-russia-award/

6:21 AM January 12, 2017

Morgan, Lewis & Bockius, the law firm advising President-elect Donald Trump on handling his business conflicts, won the Russia Law Firm of the Year award in 2016.

The law firm announced the award in a press release last May, noting it was recognized in the Chambers & Partners' 2016 Chambers Europe guide. According to Morgan Lewis' website, (https://www.morganlewis.com/locations/moscow ), the firm's Moscow office staffs more than 40 lawyers who are well known in the Russian market and "have deep familiarity with the local legislation, practices and key players."

Trump tweeted on Wednesday morning that he had no ties to Russia and repeated the sentiment during a press conference later in the day.

"I have no deals that could happen in Russia, because we've stayed away," he said. "And I have no loans with Russia."

Morgan Lewis attorney Sheri Dillon spoke about Trump's conflicts of interest during the press conference, announcing that Trump plans to hand over leadership of his company to his two adult sons and a longtime executive.    A spokeswoman for the firm declined to comment

I've been reading all this "he won, move on nonsense". With all the investigations going on about trump's connections to Russia and FBI Dir. Comey's breaking of written rules by attacking Hillary just 11 days before the election how can any responsible person just move on without wanting answers.

I will move on after there has been a nonpartisan investigation into the connection between the trump campaign and the Russian government. Seventeen agencies from the intelligence community and the FBI have noted the interference of Russian hacking that led to the 2016 election being brought into question.

And now there's the latest that Russia has possible incriminating evidence that they could blackmail trump with. trump called it fake but when there are multiple sources it isn't so easy to dismiss. ICYMI: BBC correspondent says there's more than one source, more than one tape & more than one date of allegations in Trump intel dossier.

How can any sane American not want answers to these questions to determine if trump is actually a legitimate president. Never in American history has any one person brought so many scandals into federal government.

01/13/17 04:29 AM #3288

Tom Stewart (1969)

Earnest Congor.....no one has brought so many scandals to the presidency??  Well IF Hillary had been elected she would have buried anything Trump is accused of beginning with the Watergate committee she worked on.  Then there was "Whitewater", the travel office scandal, her dealing with Bill's lovers, Vince Foster, Bengazi, the email scandal, conflicts of Interest in Foggy Bottom, the Clinton foundation conflicts and violations, and the list goes on and on.......

It is interesting that the Democrats have been pretty successful in diverting attention to the hacks by Russia rather than addressing the 'content' of the emails, which have NEVER been challenged as to accuracy or content.  IF Americans do not find the content of the emails disturbing and possibly criminal, then there is a massive problem there.

Craig, according to certain media sources, Trump voters are white men without college degrees, so that leaves me out. I got me a DEgree. I prefer to sit on the sidelines, beer and nachos in hand, and watch the libs and cons go at each other. Great entertainment. If Trump surrounds himself with fairly rational advisors, he may just bluster his way through his 4 years without breaking anything. Could he do any worse than Kennedy-Johnson or Bush and their stupid wars? I am sort of curious to see if he actually gets the wall built. I think he should get the Chinese to build it. I hear they are good at that sort of thing. GO SEAHAWKS. Beat Atlanta, then onto Dallas, then SUPERBOWL LI.

Joel - Links Magazine came out with some course recommendations in your area. Have you played any of these?

(1)  It’s an 80-mile drive east to our next stop—Suncadia Resort and the excellent Jim Hardy/Peter Jacobsen-designed Rope Rider. This attractive course is cleverly arranged in three six-hole loops, facilitating shorter rounds and family play.

(2)  Moving into Central Washington, we find David McLay Kidd’s Gamble Sands. Regular readers know how we feel about this exposed, player-friendly, gem overlooking the Columbia River. One trip round these 18 thrilling holes won’t be enough, so stay overnight in the splendid new Inn at Gamble Sands and enjoy them again in the morning.

(3)  There’s a more direct route to Pullman and John Harbottle’s superb Palouse Ridge at Washington State University, but we want to take you there via Spokane and Chandler Egan’s 1935 municipal at Indian Canyon which suffered at the hands of non-golfing bureaucrats for many years, but which has been revived recently thanks in part to a band of loyal supporters calling themselves the Friends of Indian Canyon. The weekend rate at this very special course is just $36.

(4)  The 1st at Palouse Ridge, 75 miles south of Spokane, heads straight toward Bryan Hall Clock Tower on the WSU campus. You then turn 180 degrees and move out into Southeast Washington’s magical Palouse region where the holes are invigoratingly open and exposed to the elements.

(5)  Wine Valley in Walla Walla, two hours southwest of Pullman, is similarly unprotected, and mixes Golden Age architecture with modern construction capabilities to create expansive, strategic, thought-provoking holes, laid gently (and expertly by designer Dan Hixson and lead shaper Kye Goalby) onto natural features and undulations that seem Heaven-sent for golf.

Thanks - Robert

Robert - For years we lived near Kayak Point, about 30 miles north of Seattle, on Puget Sound. It is consistently rated among the top public golf courses in the country and is in a very beautiful setting. That is the place I would recommend for any avid golfer visiting up here. Now we are right down the road from Liberty Lake which is the most golf crazy town you've ever seen. With a population of only around 8,000 people they have Trailhead Golf Course (9 holes), Liberty Lake Golf Course (18 holes), and Meadowwood Golf Course (18 holes). Local semi-pro championships are held at the latter. In fact we are just about to drive over to their restaurant for my wifes birthday. As far as golfing, my back and my knees are too shot to play golf any more. My only "sports" activity is swimming at the YMCA.

Craig Mayfield....here is another, more contemporary prophet....

Kim Clement...

Donald Trump has already cause more controversy than pretty much any President ever. He’s caused even a bigger stir over his interactions with high profile evangelical preachers. But we found something from 2007 that’ll cast everything in a new light.

Kim Clement was a well known and respected prophet. Back in 2007 he gave at the time a very unusual prophecy in that he said Trump would be come God’s Trumpet, and would be placed in the highest office in the land.

Points were given that even though he has “hot blood,” he would be used to protect our country’s borders, and would be used of God to fool the world.

The full prophecy is as follows. Keep in mind this was given in 2007, before Obama’s second term began! Who was thinking about Donald Trump being President back then? No one, except the Lord.

“This that shall take place shall be the most unusual thing, a transfiguration, a going into the marketplace, if you wish into the news media…”

Where Time magazine will have no choice but to say what I want them to say, Newsweek, what I want them to say, The View, what I want them to say,”

“Trump shall become a trumpet, says the Lord. Trump shall become a trumpet. I will raise up the Trump to become a trumpet and Bill Gates to open up the gate of a financial realm for the Church, says the Lord.”

“For God said, ‘I will not forget 9/11. I will not forget what took place that day, and I will not forget the gatekeeper that watched over New York, who will once again stand and watch over this nation, says the Spirit of God.”

“It shall come to pass that the man that I place in the highest office shall go in whispering my Name. But God said, when he enters into the office, he will be shouting out by the power of the Spirit,”

“There will be a praying President, not a religious one. For I will fool the people, says the Lord. I will fool the people, yes I will. God says, the one that is chosen shall go in and they shall says, ‘He has hot blood.’”

“For the Spirit of God says, Yes, he may have hot blood, but he will bring the walls of protection on this country in a greater way and the economy of this country shall change rapidly, says the Lord of Hosts.”

“Listen to the Word of the Lord. God says, ‘I will put at your helm for two terms a President that will pray, but he not be a praying President when he starts.’”

“’I will put him in office and then I will baptize him with the Holy Spirit and my power, says the Lord of Hosts.’”

It’s amazing that these prophecies were given many years ago, and the accuracy they hold within them.

There will still be plenty that find ways to dismiss what was being prophesied here and look for ways to be critical of Trump’s Presidency, but what would be easier? Cut down Trump every chance you have? Or pray for and bless President Trump as the man that God has chosen to lead this country to a place its never been before?

Tom Stewart,

Typical of the right, you have all your facts wrong. Starting with getting my name wrong when it was right in front of you. Really!

You threw a lot of crap at the wall hoping something stuck but what facts did you state? None. All those investigations over the years and nothing proven against her. Nothing criminal about her emails said Dir. Comey. Benghaz's 8 different hearings came up with what exactly? Other than it was republicans that cut the security budget.

Nothing in Hillary's past compares to the scandal of a foreign government interfering in the 2016 election. Nothing.

ROBERT: Great Joel, thanks. Experiencing "cabin fever" down here in Portland due to snow and ice.  Just about to melt away but another snow storm on the way.  I need to keep planning my golf outings.

"Now we are right down the road from Liberty Lake which is the most golf crazy town you've ever seen. ROBERT: "Liberty Lake" . . . the most golf crazy town . . "  If so, Davis, California has to be high up on the list. I need to check Liberty Lake. Sounds friendly and fun!

"In fact we are just about to drive over to their restaurant for my wifes birthday. As far as golfing, my back and my knees are too shot to play golf any more. My only "sports" activity is swimming at the YMCA."

ROBERT: Sad to hear about your injuries, you as well Craig . . . no longer in the game. I started playing when I turned 50, joined the Davis Muni Senor Men's club and never looked back.  I have multiple injuries that have periodically kept me home but still at it.  My favorite partners were 2 90+ old gentlemen, one nearly blind, the  other nearly deaf AND . . . they walked an carried their clubs for 18 holes.  When we played together, it was never "fore" or "your turn"  . . . but "where's my ball?" . . . "What?" . . .

ROBERT: Joel, thanks for you suggestions !

Reminds me of the organized crimes trials.  They were always powerful and had the best lawyers, so seldom did things stick.  Tell me, who in the political realm have been under investigation and accusation more than Hillary Clinton.  Why are so many people, organizations and entitites interested in destroying her?  It is true, she has avoided prosecution, and some investigations ceased becaue witnesses died, and evidence disappeared.  One might think that no one can be that unlucky, to come under that many investigations, but I guess there is one bright light, and that is the fact that Hillary will NEVER be president.  Millions are thankful for that.  So now we will see what Trump will do.

I don't support, endorse, or embrace ANY of the prophecies and statements I posted, but I find them interesting, along with a host of others.  Trump hasn't even taken office yet and the left is in such a tizzy fit it is embarrassing.  MAYBE they should reevaluate why they have lost the majority of states, both houses, the presidency.....and soon the Supreme Court.

Forget what the polls and the pundits are saying.

The answer to who will win Tuesday’s presidential election is in the Bible, says an Israeli rabbi. Hillary may as well give her concession speech now.

Rabbi Matityahu Glazerson, an international Bible codes expert who has written 30 books, says it’s a fait accompli for Donald Trump. He will beat Hillary Clinton on Nov. 8 and go on to become the next president of the United States.

Glazerson sees Trump as a leader in the mold of Cyrus the Great of Persia, who helped free the Jewish people from Babylonian captivity in Old Testament times. They were then able to rebuild the Temple in Jerusalem.

Any international leader who helps the Jewish people is a type of “moshioch” or a messiah figure, he says in a three-minute video posted in late October to YouTube. Not the Messiah but a messiah.

Glazerson says “anybody who helps Israel, to build themselves, to settle properly in their land,” is referred to as a kind of moshiach.

Just for a smile......

“The Simpsons”

Simpsons episode from 2000 entitled Bart to the Future. In Bart Simpson’s vision of the world to come, Lisa Simpson has just been elected President of the United States. As soon as she sits down in the Oval Office for the first time, she dwells on the sorry state of the union: “As you know, we’ve inherited quite a budget crunch from President Trump.”

Several news outlets reported on “The Simpsons'” speculation after seeing it on Reddit. Even The Washington Post wrote that “‘The Simpsons’ Predicted President Trump Way Back In 2000.”

Adam Carolla

The comedian for middle-aged white guys who like beer and chicks did in fact predict that Donald Trump would be president. In February, CNN highlighted a March 2008 segment from Carolla’s radio show in which he states with some disgust: “He’s gonna be president in eight years, you understand that everybody? Understand Donald Trump will be president. He’ll be president one day. It’ll be in our lifetime.”
