A "Folded Canvas Tarp". I like this reminder of the "World we came from". Back in the early 1970's I needed a canvas tarp to cover a trailer we used to use on our trips to Nevada Ghost Towns. My Uncle John took me to "Blickle's Canvas Shop" on Kentucky Ave and his friend, one of the Blickle's sewed this tarp for me. Fifty years later, the canvas is still good and I still use it for various canvas jobs. Everytime I use it, those memories come back! Just imagine one of those plastic tarps you would get at home depot still being used 50+ years from now!!

The 60th reunion of the class of 66 is next month, & I was remembering back to when many of us attended UMYF at the Methodist Church. I thought it would be fun to offer an opportunity to get together the afternoon of September 12 at the church. I have reserved the  Lamp Room from 12 to 3 for anyone who would like to join us to get together and then even take a peek around the church.

Please feel free to share this with others you’re still in touch with.

I will be providing cookies and Kool-Aid (lol) for old time sake, so if you can let me know you’ll be coming, I will be able to plan how many to provide.

Feel free to text. Vickie. (831) 459-0844

Greg,we have become a throw away society. Very few things are made to really last any more. Sad commentary, unfortunately.

Yes, Josefa, when something like that lasts, it not only retains utility, it contain memories! When I use that convas, I remember my uncle John, and I can hear the sound of the sewing machines in Blickle's Canvas shop. :-) good to hear from you!

A  mirror from my Aunt June 1950s.  I have it now.  Old is New Again.  (Hung it differently, lengthwise)

Susan Meyer (Gutierrez) (1964)

Old is new and sometimes old is more treasured and more beautiful than new.  I really enjoy and appreciate the old paintings that I have inherited over the years, especially ones that belonged to my grandparents and great grandparents. Your mirror looks stunning.

Thank you Susan.  That mirror was so pretty when new.  Many Christmas Days and events shared and remembered in June's living room.  It is like Alice Through the Looking Glass as I enjoy it now.  It is spotless.  Picked up some German Ink and watercolor prints from an estate sale which match the frame of the mirror.

Erlinda Mendoza (Gonzales) (1966)

Posted by Ms Erlandi for Rick Gonzales.

So sorry to hear of Craig Roberts passing from cancer. He was a very popular guy who was in the Class of '65, one year behind us.He played on the WHS Boys Basketball Team with me. Craig was a very good athlete. But what I remember the most is that he never passed me by at WHS without saying hello to me. He would even go out of his way to greet me. I really appreciated that  and I will always remember Craig Roberts for his kindness as well as being a prolific athlete. RIP my friend, until we meet again.

Sure everyone remembers Robert's Men Store on the south side of Main St. between College and First Streets.  It was the "GO-TO" place for men's clothing as I recall.  Wasn't this his father's store?

Marne Ann Roberts (Sivesind) (1967)

Yes, that was our Dad's store.

Terri Vejraska (Thomas) (1964)

I am very saddened to let you know of the passing  of Susan Montgomery Erickson on September 1, 2026.  Susan  was our Senior Year Class Secretary, Class of 1964 .  She  was married to Mark Erickson for almost 55 years and was  a mother of three and a devoted grandmother of three.    She was a a very talented artist and  a dear friend to  several of  us even as the years  rolled by. She attended our last reunion so you may have been able to say Hi to her then.     Susan was beautiful inside and out  and her passing leaves a big hole in many hearts.
