Dolores Cabias (Buck) (1965)
Hi Robert, I have a list of five more WHS graduates to add to the list. They all graduated sometime between 1928 to late 1930s as best as we can guess, and they are:
Harold Thomson, my husband's uncle, who graduated sometime around 1928s. He worked for Earl Wallace in farming for many, many years. Harold was married to Barbara Thomson whose painted were displayed throughout Woodland hospital for many years. She is also deceased. We do not know if she went to WHS.
Margaret Thomson Wilkendorf, my husband's aunt, who graduated after 1928. She worked for the doctors' office on the corner of Lincoln and 1st, 2nd, or 3rd street. One of the doctors there brought my brother and my daughter into the world in the 1960s.
Helen Thomson Buck, my husband's mother, who graduated in the 1930s. She worked at Liethods then Corner Drug and knew many of our classmates from her job.
Mildred Thomson Lovvorn, my husband's aunt, who also graduated in the 1930s. She was married to Wilson Lovvorn who farmed all over the valley for many years. Mildred was a stay at home mom to her daughters Karen and Darla Lovvorn, both of whom graduated from WHS.
Merle Wilkendorf, my husband's uncle through marriage to Margaret Thomson. We believe he graduated during the same time period as those above. He worked for Coca Cola during the war and at some point went to work for the City of Woodland in facilities and equipment maintence and repair.
They are all deceased. Mildred, the youngest of the Thomsons, passed away late summer last year at the age of 94 or 95.
Helen lived at the Californian as did my dad, George Cabias, for 3 or 4 years, transferred to Woodland Skilled Nursing (the old Wld hospital) where she passed.
Harold, Merle, Margaret lived at the Palm Garden as did my mother Angela Cabias for 3 to 5 years where they all passed.
So that is a little history of past alumni of WHS.
